Emory has two mascots: Eagles and Dooley. Our sports team uses Eagles, but we also have Dooley -- it's a skeleton who is supposed to be an eternal soul. During Dooley's week (it's like homecoming week), when Dooley comes into classrooms, the professor has to either answer all questions from Dooley or dismiss the class for the day. You also see Dooley walk around on campus with his bodyguards dressed in black suits.

My best wishes for you at GSU.
Thanks. Sadly, I didn't get into GSU. I guess my numbers weren't good enough. Do any of you know about housing around Gonzaga? About availability, how far it is from the school, etc. I am planning to go there to check out the school and try to find a housing up there sometime in June or July.

All in all, I think Gonzaga offers very good opportunities for a regional Tier 3 school, along with the potential for a rise in the rankings within the next 3-5 years (right when it would do you the most good). I'm 95% certain I'm going there.
I hope so. I scored poorly in LSAT so I didn't get any money from them. So I'll be taking 40k a year. Hopefully I'll well in my 1L so I can get some academic scholarship from 2L. Gonzaga is probably my first choice if I don't get into GSU or South Carolina... I would love to go to GSU since I'll be in-state.

New 2008 ranking came out and WVU is now tier 3 (they lowered their student/faculty ratio a lot). I like Gonzaga here, but if UALR or WVU can give me in-state tuition after 1L, I may choose one or the other. Any advice on these schools? Which school has better reputations, etc? Gonzaga and WVU are more tempting 'cause of their sports teams...
Where do you want to practice? You've mentioned nothing about that. That is a big factor between these schools, IMO
My first choice is Atlanta. That's only if I get into GSU. I know Gonzaga and WVU's reputation doesn't go down to Atlanta. My next choices are Seattle, DC, NYU, FL. Gonzaga places decent in Seattle, I heard. I don't know how WVU's placement in DC area. They got very good law schools around there so I assume my chances would be slim.

I am debating between Gonzaga and WVU. I am almost certain on Gonzaga unless one of my top choices accept me. I am trying to see what people know about Gonzaga law since it's not discussed much in this discussion board. Have you visited them? What have you heard about them so far?

Gonzaga is located in Spokane, WA (3 hour drive from Seattle). Their cost of living is relatively low. I heard you can find a decent 1-bedroom apartment for $400/month. I imagine Morgantown being similar. I am still debating on WVU 'cause it's hard to pass on their sports program. Their football program is amazing and they should have made to NCAA tourney this year (but congrats on NIT win though). Gonzaga has basketball team that will always make to NCAA tourney and they got good recruits coming in. So aside from sports, Gonzaga is a private school w/ tuition of $27,000. I am out of state so at WVU, it's something like $20,000 for me. Do you know when I'll become WV resident? I know for Florida, you can't become a resident if you live there strictly for school. I heard Arkansas, you can just get a driver's license and become a resident there. I don't know if it's the same with WV.
Also for the their academics. I know both WVU and Gonzaga has history of dropping down to tier 4, but who has better chance of going up to top 100? I heard from someone's post that Gonzaga got a new dean and he is looking to make Zags "national" law school...

Yeah, as of now, Gonzaga is my first choice of schools. The only school that could probably change my mind is Seattle U, which I probably won't get into anyways. I hear Gonzaga is beautiful but I still need to drive over there and visit, but I did have a friend that went there for undergrad and loved it. onechu82, where are you from?
Crzy4Max, I am from Atlanta. I would love to stay in ATL 'cause I love the city, but Gonzaga doesn't sound all too bad. I am still thinking about WVU though. The possibility of in-state tuition after 1L is hard to resist. Let me know how it is when you visit Gonzaga. I am planning a visit but it won't be in a near future.

Congrats on Gonzaga! Are you thinking about going there? I am torn between Gonzaga and WVU.
