Where should I go next fall? / Seton Hall PT v. Mercer FT
« on: March 31, 2008, 07:16:40 PM »
No money for both.  How is the likelihood of getting into FT division after one year of PT at Seton Hall? Their website says it depends on the grades.  Also, any thoughts on Seton Hall?

Mercer deposit is due tomorrow, so I would like any help ASAP!

Studying for the LSAT / Seton Hall PT? Mercer FT?
« on: March 31, 2008, 07:07:37 PM »
Seton Hall is better school than Mercer, but I would prefer FT.  SHU website says the admission to FT after one year depends on grades.  Do you guys know what the cut-line is?

Also, any thoughts on Seton Hall PT program?

I know Seton Hall is substantially better school, but I prefer FT.  Any thoughts on Seton Hall PT? Also, how hard is it to transfer to FT after a year?

Law School Applications / Re: Is Mercer that BAD?
« on: March 31, 2008, 12:50:39 PM »
I know nothing is a guarantee at any law school, but I have a transfer offer to Case if I place in top third.  I'll be studying extremely hard to be in top third if I end up going to Mercer.

That being said, I'm a horrible standardized test taker.  I took Testmasters and during their proctored tests, I was getting mid-160s.  On the real test, I got mid-150s.  This is a retake score.  I could try re-taking it again, but with my history with standardized tests, I doubt I'll improve significantly.

My only hope is to get into one of 6 schools I have yet to hear from.  Otherwise, I would have to work extremely hard, and pray for some luck, so I can place at least in top third.

So, I am assuming no one here is going to Mercer?

Law School Applications / Is Mercer that BAD?
« on: March 28, 2008, 04:58:16 PM »
In every discussion board I looked at, there is nothing but negative about Mercer Law.  Unfortunately, as of now, I am only accepted at Mercer Law.  Waiting for next year's cycle is out of question due to personal reasons.

How's the chance to transfer out of Mercer Law? I have a guaranteed transfer offer from Case Western if I'm placed top 3rd in 1L.  Do I need to be top 10% to transfer to schools like UGA or Emory?  Also, how competitive is Mercer Law?

With 6 more schools to go, I hope I get into a better school....

Schools sometimes give you fee waivers to improve their acceptance rate.

Law School Applications / Guaranteed Transfer Offer at Case Western!!!
« on: March 18, 2008, 11:19:21 AM »
I got a rejection letter yesterday from Case, but they offered me a guaranteed transfer if I am in top 33% of any ABA-approved law school.  Anybody else got something like this from Case or any other schools?
