The law is a higher calling. Repent, lest ye be tempted by the scourge of biglaw. Through LRAP be thy salvation.
I dunno I'm concerned w. not meeting as many people if I live off campus for 1L. I'll definitely live off for 2/3 if I end up at Penn.
I kind of wonder about this too, especially after going to ASW at GULC and hearing the 1Ls say how many people they meet in the law dorm. Still, i really don't want to do the dorm thing again. Tough call.
Yeah - I mean, why target school that you'd be near or above the 75th LSAT percentile...
Because with my 3.23, I'd have approximately 0 chance at any of them? If you seriously think that someone with my numbers isn't a ludicrous reach at any of those three schools, you should (to quote a fellow mongoose denizen) read a book sometime.
That's what happened to me. Duke already requested my grades, so they were already sent. Should I respond to the e-mail and let them know they LSAC already forwarded the app?? But I didn't any better this semester. I only maintained my GPA. which is a 3.56. Were the grades that you submitted any better than the previous grades?
I tried to respond to the email, but apparently it doesn't go anywhere - it just comes back with a "here's how to contact us" auto-response. My grades were good; i applied in the fall with a 3.12 and last semester brought me to a 3.23, which is probably what they were looking for. I wrote an addendum about the upward trend, so I think that had I not done well, it would have seemed like I was making it up. In any case, they'll tell you on the phone whether they're received all the info they need - I panicked a few weeks after sending my grades and called to ask if they had everything they needed (ironically, that was the day they called me to tell me i was in).
Did they have your Fall grades from LSAC (/officially) before your decision, or just your unofficial faxed/mailed grades? Is Penn still notifying by phone? I'm a tad anxious, though still sticking to the 'no news is good news' theory for now!
I had actually sent my transcript to LSAC the week before because UVA asked for grades, but I also mailed Penn an official transcript with a cover letter the day after they emailed me. And yeah, I was notified by phone.
How soon after you sent them the new grades did you hear?
2 weeks from grade request email to decision.
