Also, here's a history of the prime rate since 1958. Only problem is that history doesn't dictate future movement!

I'm pretty much decided on GradPLUS - I just don't like the idea of having a variable rate loan. Look around for lenders, many offer discounts for made payments or auto-debit of payments. Here's a 10-year graph of the prime rate.

Over 60% at firms is poo? USC seems pretty comparable to similar schools, from that list. Judging by how Cali schools place in the NLJ 250, maybe the 250 firms they list underrepresent California?

60% at firms? Not large or mid-sized firms. You only place 18% there. The rest go to "other" firms.

Doods, I'm shocked by this. Absolutely shocked. UCLA places TWICE as many in the NLJ 250. Berkeley places 2 1/2 times as many.

Sorry doods. Really.

I don't know who this "you" is; I'm going to Penn. And judging by that chart you link to, USC sends 19% to NLJ250, UCLA 26%, and Boalt 41%. Comparing those numbers to their usnews ranks, it's not particularly surprising...

FYI doods, your school's career placement is shite. http://www.law.com/jsp/nlj/PubArticleNLJ.jsp?id=1207904900045

I'm just as shocked as you are, but it's better you know now.

Just wait for the first 3 weeks of class.  You'll find out, VERY quickly, what a gunner is

It seems like none of the current students I've met so far are gunners.  That could be because they really aren't or because I'll be a gunner and can't recognize it...  I hope it's the first one...

FWIW, I didn't think you were terribly gunnerish in Morse's class. For all I know, you saved me from being cold called-upon!

Honestly, my softs are crap. I was on the campus newspaper for a year (although the falling-out i had with them was the topic of my PS) and I've had part-time jobs on campus since freshman year. Beyond that, nada. I turned out pretty OK, considering.
