I was starting to think I wouldn't be getting any more love from schools, despite still having 8 schools (including my big safety and FOUR Texas schools) left. It's nice to have the option of staying in my hometown if I wanted to! Will be interested to see if there is any $$ in the mailed letter, though this late I'd be very surprised.

EDITED to add: My status checker never changed, it still says "file in review." Also, I get a certificate error now when I log in, so that might have something to do with it? Or not.

Thank you, that actually helped quite a bit!  I am definitely leaning towards GSU over Penn State, but the fact that I won't have an opportunity to visit was (and still is) making me hesitant about the school.  I've looked at housing costs and have found some reasonable places around the college, and I'll be bringing my car, so that won't be a problem.

IU-B is Indiana in the same way that UC Berkeley is Cal.

Okay...

I need to decide between Penn State and GA State (I'm still waiting to hear from 7 other schools...but with seat deposits coming up...these are currently my only 2 choices)...

But my problem is that I don't know much about GSU outside of their website (not too good a source of info.)  I don't have the means or the time to visit the campus before August...so...with that said, here are my questions:

Does anyone live in Atlanta and can tell me some +/- about the city?
Anyone considering GSU and why?
COL in Atlanta?

I've visited the Penn State campus, and because of the transitional building and the location (Carlisle), it's not a top choice of mine.  Not to mention, I have no desire to live in the PA/NJ/NY area after graduation.

I would like to live in the VA/NC/SC/ and possibly GA region after graduation.  GSU is cheaper than Penn State (as far as tuition costs) but I don't know enough about the school itself.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Ditto.  I still have 7 schools I'm waiting on, and I would probably go to 4 of them over the 2 I've been accepted to...so now I just have to decide between Penn State and Georgia State for which one to put my deposit down on...(leaning towards GSU)--unless I get a miraculous acceptance letter from one of those four other schools in the next week (but then, I'd be putting the deposit down for one of them, and still waiting for the other responses...)

I don't want to be "that guy" (or in my case, that "girl") either...but I don't see any way around it!

Got Penn State yesterday after Mom finally came home and got mail :) (Aside from FCSL this was my first acceptance!!!)

And today...I get an email from Georgia State telling me congrats again for admission..and told me about the brief day they have for new students...I guess the snail mail is coming shortly--I confirmed the acceptance on their website (just in case the email was a mistake) YAY!!! At least I have 2 to choose from now!!!!

Pick the Padres!  My poor Pads...they have great fans (around in the good and the bad) and one of the pitchers is someone I know--he's a great guy, and the team has had their share of bad luck.  They could use the support!!  Plus, San Diego is a pretty awesome city. :)  Just my 2 cents!

Are you sure?  I have nothing to argue with--my Mom has my mail and read it over the phone, I thought she read a part saying it was non-refundable.  Well...if it is, then you just made my night!  ;D
