LSAC and LSDAS / Masters GPA counted?
« on: April 13, 2007, 03:00:31 PM »
Does LSAC take your graduate school grades into GPA calculation?

I did my undergrad in Biochemistry, I am completing a Master of Biotech program soon. My program is a professional program, so we take biotech/business courses instead of research project. The thing is I did okay in undergrad (3.5 GPA), but I did worse in my graduate years (~3.3) I have 1 year of work experience.

I heard that a Master's degree does nothing to help in your admission, but does it hinder you if you did worse than in undergrad?

Thanks,

Studying for the LSAT / Re: Pres. Bush LSAT QUESTION
« on: April 10, 2007, 01:08:51 PM »
Bush says that his immigration policies are working because fewer people are getting caught trying to cross the border.

“When you’re apprehending fewer people, it means fewer are trying to come across,” President Bush said Monday in Yuma, Ariz.

The conclusions logically follows if which one of the following is assumed?

        A. All alternate routes are dangerous
        B. The American dollar's value has decreased substantially
        C. Border officers are not being paid as much
        D. There is no alternate route that is not secured
        E. The weather is not conducive to border intrusion

To strengthen the argument, I think the assumption that Bush made should be somewhere along the lines of "Every single person trying to enter the US illegitimately is apprehended at the border"

Just trying to add my two cents... was it too nerdy?

Studying for the LSAT / Re: Major issues with time
« on: April 08, 2007, 06:54:26 PM »
Hi,

I just started studying for the LSAT a while ago and I have the same problem. I tried timing myself section by section for 35min. But I never get to finish on time, especially the RC. (I practiced LR several times, and it got better, so I only go over about 3 minutes now.) I read so slow, so it takes me like 10 minutes extra to finish one RC.

For me it's probably because my English is not my mother tongue - I was told that I should practice reading fast, a lot.
I guess I should continue to visit LSD and practice reading fast with those long posts. :P

Good luck!

I'm a newbie too - and I'm not sure about others, but I had no idea how to search for posts until I came across this post. It's because I go straight into http://www.lawschooldiscussion.org/prelaw .
