Physics/Math majors score the highest. http://www.uic.edu/cba/cba-depts/economics/undergrad/table.htm

The groupings in that study are bizarre, though.

30% of my class failed to turn in a required paper today.  This frustrates me because not only do I genuinely want them to do well, but this also means I'm going to get good flooded with lame excuses asking for an extension.  *sigh*

That's awesome. I wonder how common that is. Do 1/3 of all classes turn in papers late (or not at all?) Am I a total loser for handing in papers on time in UG?

YLS is slowly, slowly spinning down into the waters of TTTdom. HLS to 190!

This advice telling the kid to take a year off is crazy.  If you want to become a lawyer and don't have the desire to travel or do anything else for a year, go to law school.  Every year you waste costs you a $130K a year you could be making as a Chicago grad.

Yeah, RUSH RUSH RUSH into this likely life-changing decision. We can't afford a year to explore other options.

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: 172/3.9 Where Can I Expect $$?
« on: October 17, 2009, 07:35:07 PM »
Hey everyone. Stats are 172/3.9 from a large state school, no earth-shattering softs, took a year off after undergrad to try to make some money. Without going into details, finances will determine my law school. I am looking for schools that I can get at least almost a full ride, or a full ride. Any idea what kind of schools I should be looking at, or any schools in particular that you think I ought to apply to. I know everyone says go to the best school one can get into, but money is really essential for me in my current situation.

Try UF, UGA, UAlabama, UArkansas, UMississippi, UMiami, Tulane, Emory and UNC and their peer schools. They'll give you a full ride.

Don't do this. You'll probably get full rides to a few top-25 schools, if not top-10 schools.
