Facebook is a pointless distraction.  There are much better things to involve yourself on teh internet... like LSD.

LSD > Facebook on the networking front

I am an excellent law school admissions consultant as well.  I'm pretty much free.

LSAC compiles data on every undergraduate student and compares you with other law school students from your degree school.  By calculating a "degree GPA" they are able to rank you amongst other law school candidates from your school.

I'm no flame.  I'm an interested law school applicant/attendee.  I want to make this forum a better place for everyone.

Per the above.  I am thinking Harvard should be bumped down to decent; too expensive just like Fordham and American.

That's just categorically false. Harvard is a school where you could graduate anywhere in your class and still be able to get an awesome job coming out. Vanderbilt, I agree, is an excellent school, but if you graduate at the bottom of the class there, I'm sorry, but you're not getting near as great of a job as person who graduated at the bottom of the Harvard class.

I think if you were going to really try and split up the schools into "lumps" of comparable quality, like you try to do here, as good a way as any is the way most people seem to do it here:

HYS
CCN
t14
t25
T1
T2
TTT
TTTT

This system is problematic.  For example, what is T25?  What is T1?  What is T2?  Some schools ranked 50-100 for example, are better choices than schools ranked 20-50 by USNews.  Take American for example.  It's a huge law school that costs a fortune to attend.  Many T2 schools are better.

Now that's a crappy argument for not breaking things down by number. Every school in your excellent category is not equal. I doubt people would say that Harvard and Yale equal Vanderbilt. The numbers, even in USNWR, help give approximations in the tier 1 schools. Furthermore, USNWR at least releases their formula so people can say how it is bunk. ;)

It seems to me that your employment prospects are going to be awesome coming out of either school.  Harvard probably has a little more prestige than Vanderbilt, but not enough to warrant attempting to distinguish the two numerically.  Both are excellent schools, hence the ranking.

I just wanted to provide fair and balanced ranking categories.  It's a useful guide for any law school applicant.  I am probably just as accurate as US News, if not more, because I don't break mine down by number.
