Studying for the LSAT / What are we looking for?
« on: June 28, 2007, 04:55:40 PM »
Assuming the scores ARE in fact coming in tomorrow and not monday, what are we looking for on the LSAC website tonight? Some people have been saying that it says "closed" or something? Where do you find that? And if it's not there, are we waiting out the weekend?

Canadian Law Students / Advanced Standing
« on: June 26, 2007, 07:33:10 PM »
I went to high school in ontario and then to a university in quebec. I was given a few of my oac credits as "advanced standing" blank credits with no grades that basically count as "pass/fail" electives. However my transcript says "OSSD Credit" or something. Do you think I'll have to send in my bloody high school t ranscript for law school apps (canada or usa?)

Law School Admissions / latest application start date
« on: June 23, 2007, 11:30:37 AM »
I did a search and I couldn't find this (sorry if it's been asked before)

As far as I understand, some school will start accepting applications in early september; others obviously don't. What is the LATEST date that schools will start accepting apps? I'm trying to get to southeast asia in october, but I want to have everything done before I leave, and I want to leave as early in october as possible. I plan to have everything (LOR, PS, transcripts,  etc) all in and finshed by the end of the summer, but when is the latest date that apps start to be accepted?
Where could I find this info?

Personal Statements, Resumes, and Letters of Recommendation / boring
« on: June 19, 2007, 10:19:50 PM »
I'm a bit concerned about my LOR. I can get one from my volunteer work, one from a prof, but both will be boring/uninspiring. Nothing BAD, they like me, but nothing astonishing.

Also, a prof who would have been great (worked really closely with him) died two years ago.

How bad is it to have pretty vague LOR?

Studying for the LSAT / Aftermath.
« on: June 13, 2007, 10:50:51 AM »
Just a "going crazy" post. If any one else took testmasters (or even if you've self studied) you'll be used to immediate results. Don't really know what to do with my brain over the next few weeks.

I walked out of the june test feeling okay, not confident, but not devastated. Which is almost worse.

Definitely made the mistake of reading post mortems, which is not helping. Regret that.

So june takers: how are you feeling? What are you doing ot pass the time?

Studying for the LSAT / Weird...
« on: June 11, 2007, 05:27:11 PM »
Does this ever happen? I got two games sections in the first three sections and in the second one (S#3), there were two games EXACTLY as they had been before. One of them was the one with the greyhounds versus labrador, 1st 2nd 3rd 4th place. male/female etc. Not even the "names" of the dogs had changed. (i.e. they used the same letters) So that's the experimental, right? but why experiment with games that have already been used???

I know I posted this in another thread but I saw that someone posted that in the experimental RC there was a repeat. So this LG was a repeat?

Studying for the LSAT / Suggestions for timing
« on: June 05, 2007, 03:24:03 PM »

I tend to score in the 160's with strict timing, but the other day I figured I'd see what would happen if I vaguely timed myself, but wasn't too strict. I ended up going over the time by about 1 minute in each LR, not over at all in LG and by about 3 minutes in RC. I scored it and got a score in the 170's. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get within time but keep that score? I'm not MILES away by any means on time, but what sort of practice techniques have anyone used to fix this?
I'm taking the test next week!

DESPERATE to get a 165 at least or will never live down disappointment in self.
Have only 7 days to go.
I'm going to be sick.

I'm horrified.
