Law School Admissions / Explain please: status check, complete etc.
« on: November 07, 2007, 12:44:35 PM »
Because apparently I'm a little slow on this one:

I completed all my applications around Oct 21st. Looking at LSAC under the account status tab, reports/letters subheading I think I'm looking at the right information. It seems like everything has gone out, but I'm only "complete" at ND, from whom I've received an email. It seesm like this is taking a while.

Vandy, for example, seems to have gotten my LOR #2 (the only thing that was outstanding) on Oct 31st, which was a week ago and my status checker still says "N/A".

So do I just wait to get emails that say that I'm complete? what are the other status checkers or does that information come in an email too?

General Off-Topic Board / Curious Question about LSN...?
« on: November 05, 2007, 12:59:01 PM »
I'm trying to figure out the watchlist feature on LSN. When you sign in and click "View Watchlist" is that a list of people I've supposedly added to my watchlist? or is that people watching me? Or is that list just arbitrarily assigned to make me feel badly about my numbers ;)?

Choosing the Right Law School / Rant/Rave about GW for me.
« on: October 22, 2007, 08:56:51 AM »
This weekend, after getting nearly all my apps finished and finding the cost of apply to all of the schools I had intended to apply to sort of over-the-top, I've been attempting to narrow down my list. I got a bit stuck on GW. I was applying primarily because it was vaguely in my range and I'm not particular on where I want to live (just yet anyway). I can't decide if it's worth it to spend the extra cash...

So, I'd like a little push in either direction apply or not apply? Best things/worst things about GW and why...

it begins!  :o

Law School Admissions / Vandy App
« on: October 11, 2007, 07:41:17 AM »
Has anyone filled this out yet and if so, did you use their PS box? (ie, cut and paste?) I'd prefer to attach mine.

Also is it acceptable to write "see attached resume for more detail" in their academic awards section?

I think I've finally pulled it all together...
I think I actually have a PS.

I know there probably still some comma issues. If you are good with the comma, I would love some help on this near-final draft.

Or anything else actually.

Law School Admissions / UCLA no ED but letter?
« on: October 03, 2007, 08:09:31 AM »
At the moment I think that UCLA is my top choice. I know it's a reach but with Cali residency, I'm hoping I have a shot.

I DON'T want to apply ED just in case, say, my second or third choice school wants to give me enough money to change my mind (and I realize this is probably the reason a lot of people choose not to do binding ED)

So is it appropriate to simply write and include a short addendum saying that UCLA is my first choice? If so, how to address the not-apply-ED situation?

Canadian Law Students / Doubt this will garner responses but...
