2L job search / Re: Grades Needed For Market Pay From Michigan???« on: December 17, 2008, 05:48:50 PM »I'm willing to go to almost any market - prefer Chicago, but willing to go to California, Texas, DC, Seattle. I more than 3 years corporate work experience (not lawyer, just various positions). Career services doesn't have any stats yet. Pick a market or two to which you have close ties. If you're not from CA, TX, or WA interviewing for those markets is pretty much a waste of time. DC also is pretty tough to get into without some valid reason for being there. Stats from career services for this year aren't going to mean much. The economy will be much different next year, either significantly better or significantly worse. Also, I don't think looking for a specific grade cut off really makes much sense. I know many people around the median who had multiple offers and many signicantly above the median with comparatively few. Just do the best you can on exams, I promise you that you'll have plenty of time to worry and obsess about this stuff next June-November. -UMich 2L 3

2L job search / Re: Rescinding Offers« on: October 23, 2008, 12:25:37 PM »
People aren't going to post the firms on ATL because its fairly easy to figure out who the blabber is and no one wants to @#!* her or his career. I had a V50 firm call and dissuade me from accepting an offer b/c their class was full, but was careful to say that their offer was still good. Definitely glad that I accepted another offer, though.

Reviews, Visits, and Rankings / Re: BAD EXPERIENCE WITH TEMPLE« on: September 21, 2008, 11:28:50 AM »Good call on the not giving "legal advice," but his "case" with Temple's financial aid office is pretty weak as well. For example, by posting them on an internet discussion board? 9
2L job search / Re: Sending only one thank-you card/letter to the firm after a callback?« on: September 15, 2008, 04:41:31 PM »I don't see the point of doing a collective note...I mean, do you really think the recruiting person will get your note and then immediately email the hiring partners or whomever and tell them that you thanked her for having you at the callback? The point of the note is not not sending a note. 10
