As far as I can see, you're right... maybe they're looking to shake things up. Odd way to format a schedule... why not just list the class names as rows in the first column with their associated times to the right? I suppose PTers can derive their schedule, since it's only one section... looks like...

Contracts: M/T 6:00pm-7:50pm
Civ Pro: W/R 6:00pm-7:50pm
LRW: ?? twice a week after those classes

Thanks...it wouldn't let me do more than a year, so I just used my school's academic year dates...one more question, do we do the entrance counseling for perkins, stafford, or GradPLUS now, or after we find out what we're eligible for?  My schools says it's required for the perkins and stafford loans, but recommended for GradPLUS.
What do you mean "find out what you're eligible for" exactly?

If you mean until you receive your school's financial aid package... I didn't apply for loans at all until I received my financial aid package (no grants, all loans). At that point, I applied for loans and did entrance counseling at the same time.

Anyone paying off interest while in school?
Didn't make sense to me. I'm taking out money because I don't have enough money. If I have enough money to pay down the interest, then I didn't need to take out as much money in the first place.

On the GRAD PLUS application, what start and end dates should we put for "period of loan"?  thanks!
I put 8/21/2007 - 5/4/2008... I think because that was the semester days at my school.

Dean Richard finally emailed me back, and told me not to hold my breath over FT.

Looks like I won't be seeing any of you in August/September.

:(
Aw, sorry to lose ya man :(

Wow you guys must be more chill and less worried about getting loans than me.  To me its scary and agonizing.  Maybe I just still can't believe my luck that I'm going to a great law school and doing the career I want -- feel like some obstacle is going to strike me down along the way.
That comes when you have to pay the loans back ;)

Just kidding, don't worry.

thanks so much for the response, dcforlife! :)  do you know if your friend actively did anything to get off the waitlist?
That's another good question -- I think she wrote a letter to express that it was her top choice, and I think she asked an additional person to write a recommendation for her. Beyond that I'm not sure.

Sometime in June, they haven't sent the letters out yet.

It's $800 this time, though.

I've been stashing away $200 at a time, almost there... ;)
Should've waited to check the mail today!

They put the $800 alongside the year's semester's tuition charges and it made it look like I owed them $14k by June 15th *chokes*. Nope, just the $800.

hi dcforlife,

just out of curiosity, when in august did your friend find out? i just want to get a realistic picture of how long i will have to wait to possibly get off the waitlist. thanks in advance!
Good question.... I'm thinking it was the second week... it wasn't the beginning of the month but she also got there in time for orientation which was on the 14th last year, I believe. I'd say she was the odd case, though -- most of the waitlist will move a lot earlier. Whoever declined the GW offer to open the seat for her obviously did so very late which is also unusual.

dc......dc......dc.......dc..... ;)

Tell Dean Richard to hook me up with FT...
I'm sure they will, but the when is the tough question. It makes sense for them to migrate PT(unwilling)->FT, and (waitlisted)->PT, but will that all happen post-deposit, or not unti later? My closest friend who goes there found out in AUGUST... she must have been the last accepted, I'm sure of it.

Before you pay money for "rapid rescoring" remember to check what's required for loans. Credit score doesn't matter for anything but private loans - not Stafford, not GradPLUS.
