UNC may be more liberal and Wake more conservative -- that's a little bit of a guess.  Good luck.  I'm a 2L at UNC; feel free to ask questions.

How generous are they with grants and scholarships (mertit and need)?

How would you characterize Chapel Hill?

How is placement outside of NC?

Are the students incredible high strung (I am coming from a cut-throat UG private institution and hate it)?

Is the staff supportive of the students?

How expensive is Chapel Hill to live in?

Are you in-state or out-of-state? If out-of-state, how easy is it to get classified as in-state?

Do you think it is hard for the out-of-staters to find their place in the crowd?

...I do apologize for all of these questions, I am just very excited about the prospect of studying law at UNC.

Thanks for any input whatsoever.  :)

it appears that not many law schools require the css

Financial Aid / When, When, and When
« on: March 09, 2007, 07:39:41 AM »
So when can we expect to hear from the school's that we have been admitted to in terms of need-based aid (grants, scholarships, and loans)?  I am going to be factoring the amount of aid I receive in determining where I should go.  Anyone else curious?  Anyone have a good idea of when school's typicall make this info available?  Is it all up to the school?  I am really eager to hear from UNC.

Thanks for any input!

I am just taking what I have now...Dell XPS M1210 1.86GHz, 2gig RAM, 80gig (7200) memory.  I love the thing, but, not much of a frame of reference since it is my first laptop.

In at Emory today via a large white envelope, though I'll likely withdraw quite soon to free up a spot for someone else
