So to update people who got the email about getting in touch w/ the fellowships advisor from HLS.

She emailed me back earlier today, and she and I will be speaking together tomorrow about the various fellowship opportunities available at HLS.  I'm excited.

Also, all of my financial forms were submitted and received by HLS, so I should be getting a preliminary finaid offer soon.  Good stuff.

Hey Denny--Are you pursuing a joint-degree or do they actually have fellowships they don't advertise for law students?  Thanks.

No plans to pursue a joint degree at the moment.  I think most of the fellowships we'll be talking about will have to do with legal teaching and research.  She's going to call me later this afternoon, so hopefully by then I'll know more about what fellowships are available.  I'll report back later today.

I appreciate it.  Good luck with your meeting (think big bucks, think big bucks!) ;)

Oh, and congratulations on Yale!! Tough decisions, but good ones to have to make.

Where should I go next fall? / Re: Hamilton from Columbia
« on: March 06, 2007, 06:23:53 PM »
I don't recall anyone getting a Hamilton separately from their admission last year.

Granted, not all law school applicants post on LSD.

Is it a separate letter in the same packet or part of the admissions letter?  (I just got a PDF copy of my acceptance letter via e-mail).

Congrats everybody.  I just got into Columbia via e-mail.  They sent me a PDF of my acceptance letter--kinda strange but glad to have the news. :)

Law School Applications / Re: Stanford--to call or not to call

Thanks guys.  I called them today, and they confirmed that my application was complete.

Apparently, my e-mail just got lost on the net or something. >:(

I definitely think you should call.  What if, god forbid, you are missing something from your app.--better to know sooner than later.  I can't imagine a situation where it would hurt you to follow up.  It's been five weeks.

I think you're right. I just didn't want to be a pest, if there were a lot of other people in the same situation.

Law School Applications / Stanford--to call or not to call

I haven't received a complete notice form Stanford, yet. They sent me a standard "received e-mail" on 1/25/07 but nothing sense. I checked out LSN and it seems that others have gotten complete notices much quicker. Is anyone else in the same boat, or should I be contacting them soon?

Thanks.

They just sent me some pamphlet/brochure thing about public service. I was thinking maybe it was something re: ASW, but no.

Just got this too.  Was kinda hoping for a FA/Scholarhip decision.

same here on both accounts...although, the status check page has a ling for financial status check which they said would be up in March...well it's March and there's still no info about fin aid!!!  >:(

Yes, give me my $......please ;)

Studying for the LSAT / Re: FAFSA..more than 6 schools....
« on: March 05, 2007, 07:17:49 PM »
Here's what I was told when I called and asked:  After you get the confirmation that the original FAFSA was processed and sent, you can go back and click "make corrections to a processed FAFSA" under the FAFSA Follow Up Tab.  Just change your schools and send it again.

Hope this helps.
