I'm thinking of asking for my app fee back. Maybe we can start a class action suit.

Where should I go next fall? / Re: Clerkships for conservatives« on: April 23, 2007, 07:02:52 PM »The three schools that most consistently place with conservative justices are Chicago, Texas, and UVA. Of those three, Chicago has placed by far the most SCOTUS clerks. In fact, from my own (fairly incomplete) data, there have been more SCOTUS clerks placed with conservative justices from Chicago than even Yale. If you could live with clerking for just any Supreme Court Justice though, Yale is clearly the best bet. Are you talking about percentages (as compared to the total class size) or total numbers? 13

I don't suppose you've put together a spreadsheet and would be willing to save me the time??? 15
Where should I go next fall? / Re: Clerkships for conservatives« on: April 20, 2007, 07:42:04 PM »When it comes to SCOTUS clerking, I'd really say look at the total numbers instead of the per capita, where Harvard is well ahead of Yale. Other than that, can't say I have much to add. Why? I'm not trying to be persnickety. I'm just having trouble finding a good theory/model for how to analyze the little data that seems available. 16

So... a major piece of the clerkship and more specifically the SCOTUS clerkship puzzle seems to be political ideology. Any thoughts, anectdotal evidence, studies, stats, etc. on which schools place better with conservative justices?
Yale and Chicago seem to have an overall edge on Harvard according to Leiter’s rankings, but does anyone know if this trend remains the same if you break it down along conservative/liberal lines? 17
General board for soon-to-be 1Ls / Re: HLS Class of 2010« on: April 19, 2007, 06:49:17 PM »1. I'm sending in my deposit. Since I didn't get an envelope, though, can someone tell me what address to send it to? Same as the Admissions Office? Can you tell me a little bit more about these units? How much? How big? 18

So the dorm issue has been pressing on my mind lately, too (especially since we have to submit our housing application tomorrow).
1. Gropius seems a little small and there's a good chance of the men's room being on another floor. But it's the cheapest. I wonder does it get too loud at night, or should it be easy to sleep/study? 2. Hastings seems ok, but still having to share a bathroom for the increased rate isn't appealing. 3. Having my own bathroom at North seems cool but there's the construction to worry about, and 5 Hundred dollars more per month is a lot. Decisions. Anyone have some good insight. 19

I got the same e-mail from the admissions office, too. Did you have any particular interest groups you asked for, Degrassi?
