Transferring / Re: Anyone got into/still waiting on BU?

At this point I believe they will send out decisions after the deposit deadline the fill in the empty spots..
I'm in your same situation. I'm all set up with another school and waiting for 3 more. Good luck!

they gave me a scholarship... 10K.... not enough I think....
If they really want to keep good students, they should give out much more money... especially for people like me that are between top 10 and 15%, and that won't transfer to harvard....
anyway, this is my opinion..

i think that NYLS is good for big law if you are in the top 15%... otherwise, it's like you just said. ;)

I finished my first year at NYLS. I managed to end up in the top 15% of the class and I decided to transfer (in at a T20, waitlisted at a T13).
I am very satisfied with the quality of the professors, and I must say that there are a lot of smart students at NYLS. Unfortunately (for the school), many of them transfer after the first year and, therefore, when employers come on campus to recruit, have jsut a bunch of top students who remained there. This is the reason why not many people get jobs with big law firms.... being at the top of your class at NYLS is a great accomplishment and will open you doors in Manhattan. If you know you want to work there, and you don't really care about "school reputation", NYLS is fine with that!

IMO, I don't think that StJohn's is worth the moving...

no... it makes no sense... unless you go to school in a place where you dont want to work in and the T2 school is where you want to work/live in

Transferring / Re: NYLS to Fordham

I just got word that I am in at Fordham. Finished first year at NYLS near the top. Im 95% going to make the move to Fordham but just looking for someone to play the devil's advocate and give me reasons why I should not transfer.

what is your rank?

Transferring / Re: From NY T2 to Emory or GW?
« on: July 23, 2008, 09:34:45 AM »
if it is St. John's, and you are going to miss GW'OCI deadline, I would say: stay at your school.
If it is Hofstra (more T3 than T2), I would say go to GW.
Not sure about Emory.
