Michigan, but my only job is teaching political science at a University as a grad student.  I have to sound more intelligent at "work".

What I don't get is why citizens need semi-automatic hand guns.  I think a rifle that needs to be reloaded would suffice for most hunting needs.  Furthermore, the argument that you need it for protection because the worst criminals will get them seems a bit absurd to me.  My guess is that more "non-worst criminal types" kill a much larger percentage than the worst-criminal types.  Oh but wait that is right guns don't kill people, people kill people (BS!!)

Of course not, but drug users are definitely associated with Bevis and Butthead!  Just a little contrapositive fun.

Look, I know you are now just asking random questions so we don't think you are a drug user, but I already have you pegged.  Nice try nonetheless.

That or make yourself as nervous as you can on all of your real answers and try to keep as calm as possible on all of your lies.  Probably won't work and they will know exactly what you are up to, but worth a shot.  Maybe even convince yourself for a month that your real name is not Lampshade Punk (try light bulb preppy).  It might just throw that machiene way off!!

I guess if they have a policy that directly states you will not be hired if you used that type of drug, then rationally (although not ethically) it would be better to lie.  I think Polygraphs are only 99%+ accurate, so you could always tell people that you are HONESTLY part of that 1% in which the machine screwed up and save face.  Seriously though, in this case you might as well lie if you had done the drug because you would gain nothing from telling the truth.

Yea, there are actual psychological studies that indicate the more you tell someone you are honest the more likely you are being dishonest.  Not implying you are lying, just something that is a little bit interesting.

It was actually kind of a joke, but the question certainly sounds a bit suspicious.  Anyway, it seems like a lose lose situation because if you are taking a polygraph it is extremely difficult to beat.  People do beat it, but I think it would take some training and if it was a serious polygrapher, they know how to look for cheaters.

Harvard, Yale, Stanford, etc. for the next 30 schools since I did not apply.

Still waiting on Case!

Hey Lampshade,

It seems to me that you better hope the DOJ doesn't track these threads because you are gonna be screwed.  Hope the drug wasn't that bad! Good luck either way.
