Acceptances / Re: How crazy is this?« on: May 03, 2007, 10:23:30 PM »Oh ok. Nevermind then it's a tossup. Now you get the conundrum. If it was 27K a year, that would be very difficult to turn down. 74
Acceptances / Re: How crazy is this?« on: May 03, 2007, 10:02:25 PM »I would go with Case. I think you keep your options a lot more open there and you still are only paying 8,000 a year in tuition. No it is 27,000 over three years, so 9,000 a year. 75
Acceptances / Re: How crazy is this?« on: May 03, 2007, 09:47:37 PM »Honestly, if you've made the decision and can't change it, then don't think about it any more. What good could come of that? I mean that is a good point, but I am asking under the assumption that I hadn't already made the decision in my own mind. 76

I think it was NALP directory. However, I think that it is pretty close to BS. It lists the median at a 3.10; whereas even the administration says it is a 2.9. This is what they actually list now. I find these GPA's VERY DIFFICULT TO BUY!!! In fact, they don't even make logical or statistical sense. I don't see how the minimum grade for a student in the bottom quarter of the class is a 3.49, while the median student is at a 3.10. I hate all of these stats and schemes that this site, USNEWS, and the schools use to lure students!! Furthermore, I know of at least one school where NALP lists the median GPA about .2 higher than it actually is.
MINIMUM GRADE REQUIRED TO ATTAIN Top 10%: 3.82 Top 25%: 3.74 Top 33%: 3.73 Top 50%: 3.62 Top 75%: 3.49 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Median GPA: 3.10 Minimum grade required for graduation: 2.0 78

So I have already made my decision, but I need to see how crazy it is. I currently have a full ride offer to MSU (Contingent on a 3.0GPA which I really wish I knew how hard that was to keep) and 27,000 to attend Case (Contigent only on good standing). I mainly want to do government law in Michigan, but of course that could always change. Am I absolutely crazy to take the full ride at MSU- which I have anxieties about the curve?

Where should I go next fall? / Re: Is it hard to be in the top 10%« on: May 01, 2007, 09:03:54 PM »
Well,
Not to be a smart ass, but 90% of the people at all the schools cannot do it. With that being said, my advice is worthless since I am a 0L. However, I don't think that negates the fact that 90% of the people are not. 80

Hey Matthies,
MSU- to work in government law. Although, I just go into Case, but then I would probably have to try for large law firm because MSU is paid for and I am sure Case will not be a full ride. I am pretty sure MSU, but I might decide based on the different looking cats! |
