Current Law Students / Wayne (50% tuition) v. MSU (Full ride)
« on: February 17, 2007, 02:29:57 PM »
Hello everyone,

I am trying to find out what my best option is and need some advice.  I have been given 50% tuition to Wayne State along with a fellowship that is given to a select few incoming students and the presidents of the two law journals and the moot court president along with others who have done very well there.  I need to maintain a 3.25 GPA and can get it back for the 3rd year if I lose it.  The other option is to go to MSU-DCL with 100% tuition and need to maintain a 3.0 GPA and also have the opportunity to get it back if I lose it.  Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Current Law Students / Intellectual Property Law Question

I am considering focusing on IP in law school; however, I have neither a tech nor a hard science background.  Rather, I have a bachelors and a masters in political science.  Does anyone know how difficult it is to find a job as an IP lawyer without those type of backgrounds?

Hi Chip,

I could be wrong, but I thought we got those at orientation.  If anyone knows better, I would be interested in hearing the answer to this question too.

Maybe instead of your lsat, schools should merely look at GPA and WPM!!!  I'm in!! ;)

They must not like our section 3 status and therefore decided to not send us our orientation packet!!  Darn my section 3 status.

Section 3 here!!!!

Anything under 121 I would be back at the test center!!!

I would say go to Rutgers and spend the saved money on LSAT preperation!  Granted that would be a ton of money on LSAT prep, but the LSAT will probably be the biggest factor in their decision.  With that being said, you may change your mind about wanting to go to law school in which case, UofM would probably be a much better choice!!

I think the most classy shot would have to go to the "three wisemen"!!! It would be especially pleasent if you are an inexperienced drinker.
