I'll send this out when I leave for the day/ever:

As it's my last day here I figured it would be the most customarily opportune moment to let everyone know how much I've enjoyed working here for the past couple of years. Although I worked closer with some more than others, everyone here has played an inspiring role in my decision to go off on this new endeavor. All that being said, I was just in it for the pizza.

Okay okay, in all seriousness it's really been a pleasure. It's quite a feeling as this chapter of my life closes and another one begins, and it will definitely stand out in my mind forever. Thank you all!

I'd send an email that reads something like this:

To my Esteemed Colleagues and the Partners of this Firm:

@#!* ALL YOU FUCKS I'M OUT
HAHAHA EAT MY CRUSTY RIM FUCKERS

Yours Truly,
Johnny "Up Yours" BlahBlah

"OH, AND BY THE WAY I SHREDDED ALL SETTLEMENT AGREEMENTS FOR ACTIVE CASES. PEACE BITCHES."

You could send an email, or not.  It could easily go either way.

Way to take a position. :D

Johnny, you should send it - they gave you pizza, and even if people don't like it much you're leaving anyway.

Sigh, you're right. Short, simple, and sweet.

Should I write a nice simple farewell firmwide email? It seems like some people would be touched and others will be, "I AM A PARTNER, RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE."

Do you know the entire firm?

Yeah, it's a smallish firm. We did have a pizza party partially for me after all.  8)

Are they lawyers or Hamburglars? Are you working for Big Hamburglar?

I wish I worked for the Hamburglar. I'd be f-in' eatin' those Niman Ranch sirloin burgers with that special ass BBQ sifjasodkjfklads DROOLDROOLDROOL

Do you feel all appreciated?

(What toppings?)

There were 5 kinds but I only touched the Hawaiian and the Potato+Pesto. So good.
