General Off-Topic Board / Re: Wisdom v Intelligence

Thanks for reining us back in, Papa.  As is typically the case with me, I didn't do the original reading, so the digression I fostered did little more than anger the powers that be.

If wisdom instills in you a perpetual impulse to drive on the right, intelligence must come into play if there is a llama in your lane?  That is, ofcourse, unless you have witnessed the consequences of a llama-Kia run-in before.

What headway?

Scrotum was an intelligent choice, smegma would have been wise.

I commend you.  Once this damn sense of self-worth fades, I will likely begin calling for interpretations from others and using hackneyed, over-arching criticisms to debase all headway they make.

Is there one with a halo and a j?

The legal profession is often decried as a haven for those who possess the ability to contribute, but wish not to.

It would make to assume that law school students will go on to become attorneys and/or other occupations that rely upon the use and interpretation of language, though (in which your wish is a confused one).

There is a difference between interpreting language and calling for its interpretation.

What cruelty, are they not aware that contact (no matter how brief) before a rejection will bring one to dizzying highs, rendering the crushing lows all the more devastating?

I suppose in a world in which the decisions we face remain static, wisdom might outstripe intelligence as a tested quantity, but functioning under the assumption of progress and change, intelligence gets my nod.

I wish we all knew what the others meant when they say "intelligence" and "wisdom."

I wish law school students would abandon the "it's all relative" cop-out so useful at liberal arts colleges and start saying things.

I value intelligence over wisdom because intelligence equips one to interpret and react to unforeseen future scenarios, while wisdom, which is based upon past experience, may actually bias one's decision-making in ways unfavorable to new situations.

I typed "you're an assbag," then I deleted it because I feel the same way you do.  Then I typed it again because I too am an assbag.

I am beginning to recover from my not-going-to-Columbia malaise by asking whether it was the school I coveted or the name.  I'm looking on the bright side; Michigan used to be in the top 3 and Chicago is the happeningest spot between Terre Haute and Fond du Lac.  If you told me when I was a fetus that I'd be choosing between T14 law schools, I would have said "sweet."  Whatever socially-instilled expectations have seeped into my consciousness since, f*ck 'em.
