;D ;D ;D

This reminds me of when I got an e-mail from a school thanking me for my continued interest and asking me the confirm my enrollment. The only problem was that several months before I got that e-mail, I had mailed in my withdrawal never sent in a deposit, and had no communication with them after withdrawing.

So funny- gotta wonder how often this stuff happens.  :)

On a smiliar note, when I withdrew from Northwestern via e-mail the dean forwarded my withdrawal to a friend from college who is on hold at Northwestern instead of forwarding it to the appropriate person in the admissions office!! He called me completely confused, thinking I had forwarded him the withdrawal...

Incoming 1Ls / Interesting e-mail from Chicago...

"Dear ljg,

We have received your response form indicating that you fully expect to begin at the University of Chicago Law School in September, 2007.   We look forward to having you a part of the Law School community and a member of the Class of 2010.  Since you have said that you are definitely coming to Chicago, any deposits, letters of intent or outstanding applications to other law schools should be withdrawn......"

Interestingly enough, I let them know weeks ago that I was withdrawing via e-mail, and NEVER sent in a response form. I could understand getting an e-mail to the effect of "we haven't heard back from you yet, what's the deal?" if they somehow lost my e-mail, but to get one saying that I had committed myself to attending Chicago??? Ballsy.  ;)

May I ask what turned you on about CLS and off on NYU? Not that I had to make that choice, but I really don't know much about the schools other than what you get from websites and "information pamplets".

Well for one thing, their lawyering program sounds phenomenally annoying.  I mean we have a moot court requirement here that sucked up a lot of time, but doesn't seem anywhere near as bad as what they've got.

But really it was mostly an atmosphere thing.  CLS seemed more studious in my opinion.

Which is funny....because that's exactly why I loved NYU. The students are super smart, but not always in study mode...

To each his/her own!!  :)

I actually was thinking about it. My bf and I are applying to share a studio in Mercer but I hear they're pretty limited, so we're looking at the other boroughs. I know there a few threads around this site about living in NYC and which neighborhoods in Brooklyn are the safest and most student-friendly. I'll try to dig them up. I know about 2/3 of the 1L class tends to live in the dorms but that many students then move out to other areas after their first year because it's cheaper.

You two don't want to live in the Cardozo housing? I visited a girl who lived in a giant studio that was part of the Cardozo housing. Don't have a clue what she paid, though. Just remember being jealous.

Cardozo lets students from other schools use their housing??

Out of curiousity, how do Polish women treat men?
[/quote]

According to my boyfriend, they dominate them and treat them like dirt.  ;) At least that's what he says...and he's the one dating one.

Hahahaha....I think the "dominate them" part could easily be applied to most women!!

Ok, since we're talking about self-identifying here as well, I have to say I self-identify with my Polish side in how I treat men  ;D and my American side in how I am on the loud side and get overly excited (Polish girls tend to be smart but very meek and quiet and docile while I'm the opposite!).

I also speak/write/read English better than Polish. I'm fluent in Polish as well, but make a TON of grammatical errors.

Oh, and 100% Jewish...not a nationality, but definitely a heritage/culture.

Forgot that one, though I thought it was more nationality-lineage that was being discussed

I agree, but I think using Jewish as a heritage is different than, say, Catholic, Protestant, etc. I, for one, am culturally but not religiously Jewish, and it has a lot more to do with the way I am than being 50% Russian. BUT, that being said, it drives me nuts when people use "Jewish" when talking about race. White, black, Jewish??? Give me a break!!

50% Russian, 25% Polish, 25% Lithuanian.

Oh, and 100% Jewish...not a nationality, but definitely a heritage/culture. I self-identify as Jewish over any of the above nationalities.
