Met up with a few LSDers. Great people to say the least.

The event was boring but I appreciate the effort that was put into it. I don't know if I agree with the lady who said "we have the best corporate law program, even on par with Harvard's."

:)

Call to speak with Judith McNatt. She's the director of financial aid.

jmcnatt [at] law.fordham.edu

Your call should expedite things. Good luck with the grant money request. Fordham is awfully stingy with money.

Rest assured. The FA office took care of my financial aid relatively quickly. I already have an official award letter in my possession.

They should give you housing. I'd be shocked if they didn't!

Am I right when I say there's only one female receptionist who picks up the phone?

Well she said housing decisions are going to be made mid-April.

Where in NY are you from?

If I wasn't from NYC I wouldn't like to try to find random roommates to live with during my first year. At least with the dorms you know you're going to have other law students in the same boat with you. Being from NYC myself I don't mind going either way - but I'm drawn to the dorms because it provides convenience. My gut feeling is that convenience is going to go a long way in your 1L...

So I imagine they try to pack as many students as they can into these configurations?

2 students in a 2-bedroom, etc.? Or do we get our own private space? And what are the prices like?

The housing sounds pretty sweet, considering it's right smack in the middle of NYC.

http://www.fordham.edu/student_affairs/residential_life/lincoln_center/our_residential_offe/law_housing/

Taken right from that link:

All law students live in fully furnished three-single-bedroom apartments.  Each apartment has a kitchen with stove, oven and full-size refrigerator; a living room with sofa, lounge chairs, coffee and end tables; a dining table and chairs; and one bathroom.  Each bedroom has an extra-long twin bed, dresser and desk.  Each bedroom has an internet jack, ready for an Ethernet-equipped computer; a telephone line and heating/cooling units.  Additionally, cable service is provided in the living room.

And it's approximately $6,000 a semester, which is DIRT cheap considering everything is included!

Thanks! :)
