Sportseditor23: I'm definitely considering it, but I also didn't get accepted @ Penn and GULC like you did (as per your LSN profile). I really wish Emory would just help me out with any amount of merit scholarship.
That's what I'm going off of for now. Neither the Georgetown rejection nor the Duke rejection (that should be here tomorrow) leave me feeling terribly optimistic on my pending decisions at any T14. I'd love to be proven wrong on this assumption, but until then I'm trying to plow ahead with what I know for sure.
I had my Emory tour a week ago and absolutely loved it Ė students were really nice, professors I talked to were impressive, and Atlanta seemed like an awesome place. I donít know much about GW, and Iíll obviously withhold my decision until I visit there (April 1). Is anyone else down to these two schools? Has anyone found any good reasons for GW over Emory or vice versa?
I sent for a status check at Duke 2 days ago. They sent back an email saying that a decision was sent out on 2/18. Seeing as they've been doing e-mail notifications for acceptances, I'd assume that this means they've started sending out rejections (since I didn't get an e-mail). Just thought I'd let yall know -- I really hope I'm wrong.
I also got in with the Lincoln Scholarship. I only applied because they sent me a nice looking packet with a fee waiver. This makes for an interesting situation... the full ride offer is too enticing to dismiss out of hand. Anyone know anything about this school? Good reputation outside of Illinois?
Thanks for all this advice. The school I was speaking of is Cornell. Their letter did mention something about providing the committee w/ any more information that we might deem useful for their decision. I already sent in 3 letters of rec, and I guess I'll consider a 4th. Also, I'm going to give them a call to see about a visit and/or an interview. Maybe I'll also send a singing telegram...
