Law School Applications / Re: "On Hold" at Harvard
« on: March 16, 2007, 12:49:43 AM »
So, I'd love to know- when was the last "Hold" letter sent?

I wish I was on hold- as it is, my application has been complete since Dec. 13th, and I've heard nothing.  Does that mean rejection?  I called the admissions office, and he said they simply haven't made a decision yet, but that it is strange it's been more than three months.

Is there any chance I could be put on hold?

Let me get this straight:  Those who have gotten scholarship applications didn't apply/get invited to apply for the Rothman scholarship?

So is there a general consensus as to when the next batch of emails is going out, however speculative (speculatory? I hate English) it may be?

4pm. Definitely 4pm.

(I have no reason to think that, but you seem to need an answer)

4 pm! Yes, thank you, squirrel!!! I am satisfied now!

Speculation and me have been best friends since high school.

Yeah, I'm going with 4 p.m. too.  And just to be safe, make that 4 p.m. in Hawaii.

Can someone explain what this whole Rothman thing is about? Did you get invited to apply? Thanks

Check it out here: http://law.usc.edu/admissions/rothman/index.cfm

It's a full ride scholarship for three years, plus a first year summer job a some great firm.
Yes, you have to be invited to apply.

Whatever. You need a Shirley Schmidt to keep you sharp.

I recommend Brito, but she doesn't seem to be around enough. :|

I was just gone for the weekend.

Would a Brithanie do?

BTW, I've been engaging in some LSN rankings trickery...

Lovely, I like how Yale offered you $52 NOT to attend.

So, do we think Harvard will make more acceptance calls tomorrow, or not until next Tuesday?  Any reason to believe one way or the other?

I'll bet there are a few, but not as many as last week.

Well, I'm grateful to wait another week. :)   I mean, you could get a ding letter any old day of the week, right?  I haven't even got a defer email, complete Dec. 13th.

I know you can at Minnesota, Iowa, and at the UCs.

99% sure MN doesn't allow residency if you're in the state for school.

???Hmmm...  You might be right, but that means their recruiter lied to me  >:(

So it seems that the acceptances come in waves every two weeks....  Interview phone calls happen the tuesday, wednesday, and thursday before that, and the "Phone call email" happens the friday before that-  I guess I'm in no rush to hear from Toby Stock until this friday, March 2nd

Here's to who knows how much longer of playing the waiting game :D

I take it back- it seems that the acceptances come on Tuesdays, and the interview emails come on fridays.  Just one more reason to look forward to Fridays, if you haven't been interviewed yet :)
