Don't worry, you'll get it back as soon as someone announces their latest acceptance  :)

Haha well that's one way to keep grade inflation down! I'd rather not reveal my specific institution in a small attempt to protect my identity (not so much from law schools as from my current employer  ;)). I will tell you this much though - it's a women's college, so it's smaller than most schools, and it is a tier 2 (top 100) institution according to the nationwide undergraduate rankings. I don't know what everyone else's grades were, but I know there weren't THAT many Summa Cum Laude's at graduation.

Marlinspike and Sigur - yes, I apparently had some profs who thought I was extra-special and gave me A+'s. I had all A's in college.

How does this happen?  Did you work really hard?  Have really easy classes?  Massive grade inflation?  Are you a genius?  I always thought that if I was an adcomm, it would seem awfully fishy if someone had never gotten below an A.

On a scale with A+, an A is basically an A-... it is institutional grade inflation.

I suppose that could be true, although my school doesn't really have an across-the-board scale that includes an A+ - it's just a little something that the prof can throw on there. Honestly, I never thought it meant anything until I started applying to law schools. My institutional GPA was a 4.0.

Well my major was easier than some, although I was co-valedicatorian with a chemistry major. I dunno, I just worked really hard. I really don't know how to guage grade inflation, since it exists pretty much everywhere. I'm not a genius, but I like to think I'm fairly intelligent.

Beware of the dates they post on LSAC though. It says one of my letters was processed on 1/11, yet it didn't actually show up there until 1/16 or 1/17 - and, lo and behold, it never got sent to the school on the 15th. This is a school that only gets reports on the 1st and 15th of each month...therefore, I missed their Feb. 1 deadline. Seems like sometimes they post the date of the letter as the date that's actually on the letter from when the recommender typed it.
