No more than a "5" here. Frumpy-looking tomboy since leaving the womb, short mop of red hair and a beer gut that's paid for. But I get a "10" for knowing my sports and for hitting a golf ball 220+ yards. I figure my future fellow associates will want me on their scramble teams at least...

General Off-Topic Board / Re: Do you feel like an adult?« on: June 27, 2007, 02:00:42 PM »funny My back tells me every morning that I'm an adult. Oh, wait a minute, that just means I'm old. Or that my back needs adjusting. Well, anyway, I'm an adult. Mortgages, taxes, bills and a whole different mindset since crossing to the wrong side of 40 pretty much sealed the deal. And I can't drink like a 20-something anymore, either.

General board for soon-to-be 1Ls / Re: 1L and Suicide« on: June 05, 2007, 10:58:46 PM »...while acquiring all this debt, all this pressure to perform... I don't get all this "debt fear" discussion. After twenty years of managing multiple mortgages, equity loans, vehicle loans and student loans (all of which I've handled on anywhere from $30K to $65K/year), I just don't understand the "big debt deal." ![]() Do you think you can do well enough in law school to get a job offer that will pay the bills with a little left over for savings/investment (not for partying or frivolous entertainment expenses)? Then go to law school. If not, get some other (cheaper) graduate degree (or none at all) and get a job commensurate with your education and experience. Don't kill yourself over 1L year in law school. I can think of better things for which to off yourself--none being economic or academic in nature. 39

Well, I ain't afraid of dyin', it's the thought of being dead
I want to go on being me once my eulogy's been read Don't spread my ashes out to sea, don't lay me down to rest You can put my mind at ease if you fill my last request (Chorus) Prop me up beside the juke box if I die Lord, I want to go to heaven, but I don't want to go tonight Fill my boots up with sand, put a stiff drink in my hand Prop me up beside the jukebox if I die Just let my headstone be a neon sign Just let it burn in memory of all of my good times Fix me up with a mannequin, just remember, I like blondes I'll be the life of the party, even when I'm dead and gone (Chorus) Prop me up beside the juke box if I die Lord, I want to go to heaven, but I don't want to go tonight Fill my boots up with sand, put a stiff drink in my hand Prop me up beside the jukebox if I die Just make your next selection, and while you're still in line You can pay your last respects one quarter at a time (Chorus) Prop me up beside the juke box if I die Lord, I want to go to heaven, but I don't want to go tonight Fill my boots up with sand, put a stiff drink in my hand Prop me up beside the jukebox if I die Prop me up beside the jukebox if I die (Repeat line and fade) |
