I've got an offer from a firm that I would like to work at, but they're only giving me two weeks to decide and I've still got other interviews to do.

What should I do?  If I ask for an extension, will they view me as someone who's not really into the firm?  Would they lose enthusiasm about hiring me?

I'd appreciate any advice.

2L job search / What should I bring to callback interviews?

Should I bring resumes, transcripts, references, writing sample, etc?

Any insight is appreciated.

"Unlike what most people on this board think, BigLaw is not the end-all-be-all. There are plenty of good mid-size firms out there that that have 50-150 lawyers and pay six figures (or close to it)."

Definitely.  The firm just has to have the right clients (i.e., big money corporations).  Jorden Burt in DC pays $2788/wk to 2L SAs (and correspondingly $145k to 1st year assocs).  It has somewhere between 50-100 lawyers too, and would therefore be classified as midlaw.

Alright guys... thanks for the advice.  I'm just sort of tired and unmotivated after just having moved to DC, but I'll definitely go to this.  It'll be a good warm-up for the week ahead.

C'mon guys, 43 views and no response?  Someone has to have some comments here.

General Board / OCI Reception Questions

So.. a couple of questions:

(1) How important are these things?  I realize it's more face time with potential employers, but the way I see it, that could be either good or bad.  Does anyone think they'll care/notice if I don't go?

(2) If I do go, would it be inappropriate to bring my wife along?  She's also a law student.

Any insight is appreciated.

8/35 bids... got some pretty top-notch firms though (Covington, Littler, Paul Hastings, etc.)

So how did everyone do?  I fared pretty decently (I think) with 8 interviews.  Anyone else want to share?
