Maka Mani,

Do you feel that career prospects are any different for Part timers?  I am an accountant looking to break into tax law after my JD.  However, I was apprehensive about the part-time programs because a lot of people said they don't have as many resources in regards to career placement.

Man, thanks for the encouragement.  I hope it works out that way for me.  I have been praying to god that I can slide pass the adcomms...................... ..(dramatic pause).....................well I'm not really religious, nor do I pray but that is beside the point

Your in (to the club that is).  If we get accepted, I'll buy a round of drinks for everyone.  Bwilliams, you choose the bar (you are from DC right?).

Yea, I hope so.  I, like you bwilliams, hope that much of the class is as committed to work as we intend to be, but I seriously doublt that will be the case.  Never-the-less, it is nice that many of us will already have an idea of some of the "serious" part-timers through this site.  If you, jetsboy, and myself can manage acceptance we can surely help each other out considering we all three plan on working through the program (unless I am mistaken).  Good luck again guys.

I'm with you man. But I work in public accounting so I don't think I'll be keeping my day job when I go to school (60-80 hours during tax season).  I'll probably try to get an in-house corporate, non-profit, or IRS accounting position.

Law School Admissions / Re: New GPA -- Request Hold at Vandy?

My application packet is complete and I had them hold my application for my updated LSDAS report. If it is going to help (which I think it will) I don't see why not.  You have to make the request in writing (e-mail is acceptable), not over the phone.

You definitely won't shoot yourself in the foot.  What you WILL do, is increase your chances for acceptance.

You can switch to full-time later or if you do well (top 15 - 20% of your class) you may even decide to transfer to a higher ranked school (your law school grades will hold more weight on your transfer app than your LSAT).
