You know what, Blue Warrior?  None of us are interested in this cra[/b]p.  We are scared of what it will mean about and for our country if Obama is not elected.  Take your bull somewhere else.  You are on the wrong side of history.

I totally agree!  Bluewarrior, please give it a rest.  It is no longer possible to have a productive discussion with you on Election 2008.  (This statement isn't meant to be a personal slight, but rather a candid assessment of the situation on this board/thread.)  So, out of respect for your fellow LSD'ers, please cease and desist!  We all agree to disagree on Obama and McCain, and there's no need to keep beating a dead horse.

Again -- cease and desist.

Thanks!

Also, y'all neglected to warn a brother about future interests and poo. property's a bee-yotch. Got me sittin' in class like  ??? Y'all some duty breachin' mofos. ;D :D

Gilbert's Property Summary was a complete lifesaver for me when it came to understanding present and future interests.  My prof made the subject unnecessarily complicated, and Gilbert's breaks it down for you so well that you'll wonder why you were ever confused in the first place.  No matter what school or prof you have, I think Gilbert's Prop is one of the best ways to grasp possessory interests well enough to make sense of the stuff your prof is trying to communicate in class!  It presents the basic doctrine in a clear, succinct, but impeccably thorough manner!  You should easily be able to incorporate this book into your class/exam prep w/o feeling like you're trying to read a treatise in addition to your regular assignments.

Run, don't walk to get your own copy and see for yourself!!!  It looks like this: http://www.amazon.com/Gilbert-Law-Summaries-Jesse-Dukeminier/dp/0159007739

I wasn't using a Prop casebook written by Dukeminier, and yet this summary was still the most helpful I've found!

Hi all,

I'm a little disappointed by my LSAT score, and I think I might retake in Dec.

I have a 3.56 GPA with a 155 LSAT.  Where should I apply/where should I reasonably expect to get in?

Do I have any chance at Emory, UNC, W&M, American, BC, etc?  Should I go lower?  I'm really unsure about where to apply...any help?

Target 20-30.

UNC is currently at 38.  Do I have a good shot there?  Around what range would I start approaching safeties?  Thanks so much.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I think you're in at UNC, and if you want to practice in NC don't worry about the school's recent fall in the rankings.  70%+ of the NC bar is comprised of UNC grads.  You can't go wrong if you want to practice there or in other Southeastern cities.

I also think you should be in at American, too.  I don't really know all that much about the other schools with respect to admissions standards.  That said, my gut feeling is that BC might be a reach for you, and the others you have a good shot of getting into.

Thanks for the input.  I'm a little worried because I'm out of state for UNC (PA).  Temple/Villanova will be the PA schools I apply to.  UNC is #1.  I really like the appeal of Atlanta, Boston, and NY...hence explaining Emory, BU, BC.  I'd enjoy going to Fordham, but I feel like that's too much of a long shot.  But I love UNC, and I really want to go there.  If I retake, will schools wait until my Dec scores come out until they make their decision?  To clarify I guess I'm just unsure if 155 is enough.  If it's enough to get me into UNC, I'd rather not retake, but if it's not enough, I would retake and wait until Dec.  Thanks.

Also, if anyone has any suggestions for schools that are up and coming or that they hear great things about, I appreciate you sharing.  Thanks.

Hmmm, interesting point.  I didn't realize you were necessarily out of state.  I do think it's worth it for you to retake then.  I don't think 155 is an automatic ding, but you are probably not as competitive as the best of their out-of-state applicants.  Re-take and try to get 160+.  Have you reviewed the answers you got wrong in your first test yet?

Feds disrupt skinhead plot to assassinate Obama

By LARA JAKES JORDAN, Associated Press Writer 4 mins ago

WASHINGTON Federal agents have broken up a plot by two neo-Nazi skinheads to assassinate Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and shoot or decapitate 102 black people, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives said Monday.

In court records unsealed Monday in U.S. District Court in Jackson, Tenn., federal agents said they disrupted plans to rob a gun store and target a predominantly African-American high school in a murder spree that was to begin in Tennessee. Agents said the skinheads did not identify the school by name.

Jim Cavanaugh, special agent in charge of ATF's Nashville field office, said the two men planned to shoot 88 black people and decapitate another 14. The numbers 88 and 14 are symbolic in the white supremacist community.
The men also sought to go on a national killing spree after the Tennessee murders, with Obama as its final target, Cavanaugh told The Associated Press.

"They said that would be their last, final act that they would attempt to kill Sen. Obama," Cavanaugh said. "They didn't believe they would be able to do it, but that they would get killed trying."

An Obama spokeswoman traveling with the senator in Pennsylvania had no immediate comment.

The men, Daniel Cowart, 20, of Bells, Tenn., and Paul Schlesselman 18, of West Helena, Ark., are being held without bond. Agents seized a rifle, a sawed-off shotgun and three pistols from the men when they were arrested. Authorities alleged the two men were preparing to break into a gun shop to steal more.

Attorney Joe Byrd, who has been hired to represent Cowart, did not immediately return a call seeking comment Monday.

Cowart and Schlesselman are charged with possessing an unregistered firearm, conspiring to steal firearms from a federally licensed gun dealer, and threatening a candidate for president.

The investigation is continuing, and more charges are possible, Cavanaugh said.

The court records say Cowart and Schlesselman also bought nylon rope and ski masks to use in a robbery or home invasion to fund their spree, during which they allegedly planned to go from state to state and kill people.

For the Obama plot, the legal documents show, Cowart and Schlesselman "planned to drive their vehicle as fast as they could toward Obama shooting at him from the windows."

"Both individuals stated they would dress in all white tuxedos and wear top hats during the assassination attempt," the court complaint states. "Both individuals further stated they knew they would and were willing to die during this attempt."

Cavanaugh said there's no evidence so far that others were willing to assist Cowart and Schlesselman with the plot.

He said authorities took the threats very seriously.

"They seemed determined to do it," Cavanaugh said. "Even if they were just to try it, it would be a trail of tears around the South."

D.L. isn't funny. (his show is in CNN now)

I've never found him to be funny, even back when he was the first host of ComicView.  All he does is crack on people.

ITA!  DL Hughley is probably my least favorite comedian of all time.  Who in the world thought it was a good idea to give him a platform on CNN?!?!   :-\
