not a peep since december and I sent a LOCI - I'm leaving town for a week, we'll see if I have anything waiting for me when I get back.

Went to decision at Georgetown yesterday.  My numbers are low for them (166, 3.61).  Anybody think they checked the new rankings, saw their spot, and decided to admit me for the heck of it?

They've been #14 for years - I doubt their remaining in the same spot one more year will make them reconsider someone they'd otherwise reject.

I just called and they said they aren't sending out decision for another two weeks...hmmm, also they said that decisions would be sent by email followed by a letter.

Supposedly decisions went out at the end of last week.  I imagine that rejections will not be sent out until May (after first seat deposits are due), when they can see how many people given initial offers are planning on attending and doing GLS.  Anyone get an initial offer? Anyone get a ding?

I got a call from Dean Bellamy saying I have "good news" coming today (possibly via e-mail) on Friday evening, but I refuse to believe it until I see it.

Good luck to you, Dimrod--we're in this together.

ooh - I didn't get a call...  Now is when I start worrying...

Law School Applications / Re: Wait List Data From Last Cycle
« on: March 08, 2007, 12:59:50 PM »
is it wrong to think it's kinda funny for the people accepted off the waitlist to pass on the acceptance and leave schools with a big zero for number of people attending who were accepted off the wait list?

like it's the only way people can get back atthem for making them suffer through the waitlist and finally be the ones to turn them down.

Most people are on multiple waitlists.  It's probably not so deliberate, more a matter of multiple offers at the same time, or forgetting to withdraw from one waitlist when accepted off one at a better school.  I doubt anyone would be so petty (or self-defeating) as to turn down a school they actually want to go to out of spite for being put on a waitlist.

It's not all about numbers..  The people with higher scores who get rejected early on usually have something else wrong with their apps (i.e. obnoxious ps, bad LORs).

So for people actually on hold (the original purpose of this thread), has anyone sent in their extra essay?

I finally buckled down and wrote an essay last week.  I chose the children liability property damage one.  Anyone else?
