Hey Chica,

do you plan to live on Campus, or look for a place off?

I really want to live off, as I am not into the whole "dorm" thing... but I am worried about committing to a lease and not finding a roommate.

Anyone going to Fordham can answer this!

Law School Applications / Re: Has anyone got accepted by reaches?

I only had about a 55% chance at Fordham and it was the first school I was accepted to, very early in the cycle.

On the other hand I had a 90% chance at Cardozo and they waited about 4 months from me going complete to waitlist me. Obviously, I would not choose them over Fordham... but it just shows how arbitrary this whole process is.

Oh and I am going on almost 6 months with no word from BU... so some people feel like they dont even have to answer me.

Six months is a little ridiculous! Have you called to inquire what the hell is going on?

I got accepted by Columbia! Chaishu gave me a 48% chance, but it's numbers are old. I definitely feel like it was a reach.

Yes I called and the person on the phone was VERY rude... she checked to make sure I was complete AGAIN and that was all she would do. She said they have no timeline to make decisions and she could give me no additional information. 5 places in USNWR does not make a difference to me... I would never choose them over Fordham based on location... so It doesnt make a whole lot of difference to me, I just think it is kind of rude... at least Cornell has had the decency to defer me twice :P

General board for soon-to-be 1Ls / Fordham Class of 2010 Housing

Hey,

I finally decided on Fordham.
I will send my deposit today or tommorrow.

I am not from NYC, but will be looking for housing.
Just wondering if anyone else is in the same boat and would be interested in looking for a place together. I have looked on craigslist and similar sites and it looks like you can get the best deals if you live 3 or 4 people together.

Law School Applications / Heard from Cornell Again
« on: March 31, 2007, 01:49:05 PM »
I was deferred at Cornell and got another letter from them today.

I was placed on "reserve" which basically means I was deferred AGAIN.

They said they strive to keep their numbers low, so they will not be making decisions again until May. At this time they also create a waitlist.

Honestly, at this point Cornell no longer means anything to me, I would not lose a deposit at Fordham to go to Cornell...I am content with my choice of being in NYC and at Fordham. Therefore I am withdrawing from their deferred..reserved.. w/e list. just wanted to let everyone know they were in contact again, as I know some people are interested.

Law School Applications / Anyone get accepted to Fordham AGAIN?!
« on: March 01, 2007, 01:58:50 PM »
I just got an email today, telling me that I had been accepted to Fordham and that I would be receiving an official acceptance in the mail in a few days.

However, I already received this email months ago.

I guess I am really really in... :P

Anyone else get this as well?

Law School Applications / Waitlisted at Dozo.
« on: February 27, 2007, 02:35:45 PM »
I got the letter yesterday... I was placed on the waitlist at Cardozo with a 164/ 3.7 and I am Jewish if it makes a difference.

I already got into better schools and it does not make a difference to me, I am not accepting a place on their waitlist... just thought it might be helpful for others waiting on a response. By the way I went complete in mid October.

I honestly think you are shooting too low.

With your LSAT score and cum GPA, you are obviously bright. If you write a very good addendum to your application explaining the situation as well as possibly include documentation to prove your mothers illness, I am sure you could get into a low T1 or very solid T2.

Work hard to keep your GPA up and start getting all your application materials ready (personal statement, explantion of GPA, F's and W's) and you will be fine.

Good Luck
