Law School Applications / Re: Is there anyone from the South
« on: October 13, 2004, 06:43:45 PM »
I'm from the northeast but i'm currently at LSU, most the schools i applied to were in the south, ole miss, uga, uf, and tennessee. I personally like living in the south more than the northeast and west coast.

Where should I go next fall? / Re: DC law schools - Hottest babes

It's not DC...but Umaryland's a subway ride down the road (not the law school)and that's a fun town to play in.

unless you're loaded, or have a significant scholarship you're going to easily rack up at least 125k in debt. but that's not unrecoverable since two years ago they claimed starting salaries of $125k/yr...but that really needs to be dissected. the school's reputation is based on their high tech patent and tax law programs. that's also where the money is. if you're going public service, you may never pay your loans off. besides the price, the school is really nice, and the area is really nice, but like any high population area there is a lot of ghetto in surrounding areas.

from my experience northeastern schools blow for endless waves of hot women...followed closely by northern cal. but one thing is for sure, i've never been disappointed at traditional "old south" schools.

Law School Applications / Re: Military service help at all?
« on: October 05, 2004, 09:43:37 PM »
military didn't help me either...and being forward deployed wouldn't even buy me a deferment. so not only did it not help me in, but i also got screwed and had to reapply last year. no matter what people say, all that matters is the lsat...if you can get a 168 on the test there aren't many schools that will reject you, even with a poor gpa and arrests. either way, there's a post identical to this one on the vault right now you might want to check out.

while in the phd program have you published anything??? if you do well and have published stuff, a bunch of the top schools are inherently looking for the scholarly types. gpa's in a science field are impressive no matter what some of these jabronis would lead you to believe.

Law School Applications / Re: Grad school to law school question
« on: September 01, 2004, 07:52:20 PM »
if you withdraw from grad school right away, there won't be any grades...without grades there's no record of you even being there i wouldn't think. you could just play it off as if you got in, and chose not to go.
