Choosing the Right Law School / Re: Penn State
« on: July 05, 2007, 04:03:55 PM »
Hey guys, any thoughts about the PT daytime program at Penn State? I am on the WL and the dean asked me if I am interested in PT status. They just started this PT daytime program in Fall '06, so I know info is limited. Thanks! :)

Wow, that was a really informative post. Thanks for taking the time to post it. :)

How does PSU rank PT students? I know usually law schools just rank PT students among each other, but the PSU program says that it is for people "who want to graduate in four to seven years," so how would they rank them?

Thanks :)

Not that I'm unpatriotic or anything (haha), but I hate that there is a federal holiday smack in the middle of the workweek where there is no hope of hearing from any of my waitlisted schools--even if it is to tell me no.

Just venting, thanks for listening. :)

When you get a job, you'll feel differently.

I HAVE a job, but I'd much rather be at work, knowing it's possible to get an all-important call/email from one of my WL'd schools. Crazy, I know. :)

And on another note: I live in Virginia and it is indeed pouring down rain here. :(

Choosing the Right Law School / Penn State PT Day Time Program?
« on: July 03, 2007, 05:31:59 PM »
I am in WL limbo right now and I got an e-mail from Penn State today.

Summation: Our FT class is full, would our PT daytime program be something you would consider? Over half our PT daytime students are able to transfer into the FT program by the start of their second year and then they can graduate in three years just like everyone else.

So does anyone know anything about PT daytime programs? What is the purpose of them, if its during the day? Is it just so they can include people with lower numbers and not have to include them in their report to US News?

It seems like everyone would just be trying to transfer to FT, and the fact that they said "over half" of PT students transfer into FT makes it seem like not that many people are able to end up making the switch.

Has anyone else gotten this same e-mail? ANY info about this type of program or this specific program would be appreciated. Thanks:)
