Hmm, very interesting.  Thanks for the insight.

Duquesne in Pittsburgh has a 44.3% acceptance rate (according to US News they only received 915 applications last year).  I realize it is a T3 school, but is there some reason that so few people apply, compared to other schools in the same tier?
Part of me is glad that there is less competition (comparatively speaking), since I am applying there, but I wanted to make sure that there isn't some big secret I don't know about that makes so few people want to apply!  If anyone has the scoop, can you fill me in?

Thanks and congrats/good luck to all of you guys. :)

Choosing the Right Law School / How helpful are LSAT tutors?
« on: December 17, 2006, 04:45:55 PM »

Did any of you guys who scored well on the LSAT use the tutors that the prep companies offer?

I cannot fit a full-length course into my schedule because of work, but a weekend course seems too short to really cover everything. So a tutor seems like a good investment...but I was wondering if any of you had used a tutor and found them helpful?

Thanks and good luck in your admissions cycle. :)

Thanks, guys. I think I will read the first few chapters of a logic textbook then, that's what I had been thinking of doing.  :)

I was wondering if any of you who have had classes in formal logic found that it helped you on the LSAT?  Thanks.  :)

Ok, that was an easy decision...I just switched my testing center to Mary Washington and I feel much better. Thanks guys. :)

Studying for the LSAT / Any Feedback on the University of MD test center?
« on: December 06, 2006, 07:01:06 AM »
I just signed up for the LSAT at the Univ of MD in the test center really that bad? I am hearing some horror stories. Should I try to switch test locations? Help!

Thanks. :)

I also think that when you are practicing with the preptests, you can calculate your score and find out how you did right away, so waiting three weeks probably feels really weird. I think you're pretty normal for freaking out.  :)

I myself decided to cancel my score, and at least that brought some kind of resolution (haha, maybe I am trying to hard to look on the brightside here). Is anyone else cancelling their score, or thinking about it?
