Please read. Just finished my first week.

Also,  I would invite any LSDer's to private message me stories of their first year so far and throughout the year.  I would love to post them on this blog and cite the story to an LSDer by their board screen name.  I'd love to hear feed back on the blog site (either on this thread or on the comments).

General board for soon-to-be 1Ls / Re: Study aids?

The only reason professors tell you not to use supplements is because they are worried that students will quit reading the case and doing their own briefs.  Doing the actual reading and your own briefs is extremely important because that teaches you to extract the relevant facts and spot issues.

BUT---sometimes is it tough to point out the rule of law, or the issue ect and the supplements make sense of it all.  So....use the supplements to actually supplement your reading, but not as a short cut.

But saying not to use them all all is complete BS IMO.  Use them,  don't abuse them.

thanks cassie,  and Swatjet,  anytime you have a rant, just PM me your rant and I'll post it as written by your LSD name. when do you start?

I want all LSDer's to have a shot to share their stories in the blogosphere.  This gives people a shot who don't feel like maintaining their own.

I'm starting a blog chronicling entertaining stories that you witness happen or are involved in 1L.  If any of you have good stories, starting w/ orientation please personal message me and I'll post it and attribute it to your LSD screen name as the writer.

I don't care if the stories are funny, or if you are just pissed off about a fellow student or frustrated with a teacher or just whatever....shoot me the story and I'll post it and say written by "your LSD name"

I just started the site.  It's called http://www.firstyearoflawschool.blogspot.com/  I'd love all the participation.  Just personal message me your story and I'll copy and paste it as written (maybe I'll edit your typos.).  Thanks guys, hope to hear from you.

Meta Discussion / Hey Andrew. Search Engine for the board?
« on: July 08, 2007, 07:18:45 PM »
Could you make a search engine for the board so we can find certain topics at will?

obviously wiimote is insecure about a crowded profession and all the competition he will be faced with.

it's just a fact that a lot T14s get their asses kicked in court rooms all the time by T2-T4, and people like wiimote just can't stand it.

two points:

1. the whole "i may go to a T2 school but i'll kick your ass in the courtroom" thing and all variations thereof is really rather tiresome.  must everything be a competition?

2. there's no such thing as T14.  that's just a myth spread by the GULC trolls.

Points noted, but conversely the "there's no point to go to law school at all if you go to a T2-T4" is also tiresome.
