but dislike the "beauty queen at the parade" vibe

Oh, and since you asked, consider yourself shot for the OSU comment. :)

Shot at by a drunken cowboy who is addicted to inhalants?  I will take my chances.

"Why I Want To Go To Law School, Using Only Vowels"

Oh and, on an unrelated note to the original poster: it's really, really bothering me that you've misspelled Dirk Nowitzki's name in your username.

While it pains me to bother a UT football fan (considering all the tough times you've had these last few years)...the name is the result of a long and not interesting story, but it is spelled differently on purpose.  IT should annoy you more that announcers constantly mispronounce his last name either No-W-itzki or No-V-itzki depending on their usage of the german W (V).

I'd assume you mean these past few weeks, as UT football these past few years certainly hasn't been anything to be sad about.  :)
Yeah, sarcasm is hard online.  I was talking about the recent sports domination at UT.

I couldn't decide if you were being sarcastic or not, because these last few weeks have been quite rough in terms of football and basketball.  :'(

I am a firm believer in the grace period. If you win the national championship in the greatest final ever, you cannot complain for at least 5 years, even if you lose to A&M.  Just close your eyes and imagine being at Baylor or something and then be thankful you don't have to live in Waco and cheer for the papajohns bowl or something like that.

nobody in the big 12 has a better mascot than oklahoma states drunken, six shooter carrying, cowboy

I see you've jumped right into the Oklahoma rivalries.  I thought that OSU was going to pull a win at this year's Bedlam.  I'm an OSU fan when it comes to those two so shoot me now. :)

However, I am always for the Oklahoma team when we're playing anyone else so I was happy to see OU win the Big 12 last night.  I noticed that they besides Boomer Sooner, they also played the Oklahoma (musical) theme song multiple times so it wasn't all Boomer Sooner.

Yeah, I watched the second half, and couldn't hear the song that much.  It's like they read this thread or something.  The OSU mascot is bizarre.  1) what is with the spraypainted silver beard? Is he inhaling paint? 2) he looks like a character from Team America World Police, 3)The whole fiberglass-like head is creepy.  Texas Tech does the cowboy cartoon mascot right.

They totally mail in some episodes, but I liked this season.  The little league hockey episode was quality.  Week in and week out, they are sooo much better then other shows on TV, that I excuse the 3 or so episodes they mail in.

And Peet's is weak. Sorry, but I've tried it 3 times, and was disappointed every time. Tully's is OK, but Starbucks is still my favorite chain coffee.

I just can't agree with this.  There's really no alternative but a fight to the death, scalding coffee style.

same here. I hope they send it sooner, like in a couple weeks. I'm goingto Colorado on the 15th for a visit to Denver and it would be nice to know whether I should go over to Boulder or not.

The campus is absolutely gorgeous. The new law building is breathtaking...seriously. Boulder is pretty nondescript. The downtown is cool, the mountains are amazing, but the rest of the town is ho-hum.

I'd love to go there, but I'd also love for them to waive that first year non-resident tuition for me to go there. >:(

Did you go to the Hill?  Pearl St? Boulder Creek? Norlin Quad?

Went to the Hill, Pearl St, and Boulder Creek (and the Falls). And then a horrible camping experience in Nederland (drove around for hours trying to find a place to camp in an impromptu decision...and with one blanket, no pillows, and a tent. Froze our asses off).

Like I said...I'd love going there. But I couldn't ever stay in Boulder. It just lacks that "charm" that I've found in only a few cities/towns.

Okay, maybe try visiting Tiny Town.  It is quite charming.

I'd pick UMich over Duke. I loved Duke, especially the small class size. But Ann Arbor would be much better than UMich. Then again, going to a private school is usually better than publish. Follow the money. But if it is anywhere similar go to UMich. The law quad is awesome, they have a great football team, and it supposedly has better faculty and academic placement. You can't make a wrong choice.

Late night?

I thought the same thing.  I thought maybe that poster was assuming the identity of his avatar a bit too well.  ;)

haha, agreed.  Towlie: "I'm so high right now, I don't even know what's going on."  Kyle: "You're the worst character ever, towlie."

the mascot needs work

WTF?!? Our mascot is the best f--ing part of games, when they bring it out onto the field after every time we score (which means it's been out a LOT the four years I've been here).

...unless you meant these things. In which case I would be forced to agree with you.

The horse-man is like a bad dream.  When I actually think of the Big 12, the running horses may beat a sedated cow, a collie, and all the other lame mascots (with the exception of having an honest to God buffalo charge the field - but that mascot is wasted on a bad football team). I guess I like the speed and horses angle, but dislike the "beauty queen at the parade" vibe, and the little house on the prairie vibe.  Maybe keep the wagon, but take down the canvas and fill it with wooden kegs instead.
