T-14 Quality:
Fat Tire (CO) Dos Equis Lager (I hate the amber)...aka the green bottle Sam Adams October seasonal Murphys (IRE)- cheap and high quality Top Tier: Shiner Bock (in a keg is better) Harp Sunshine Wheat (CO) Pacifico, Corona Stella Sam Adams Killians (good party keg) Boddingtons Tier 2: Rolling Rock Miller light Coors Light Becks Buffalo Gold Shiner Blonde Flying Dog/Breckenridge Brewery Modelo Tier 3-4: Coors Extra Gold (to buy this, you must be "extra" stupid) Keystone Lite (water + alcohol + carbonation) Papst White Elephant (cool label) Mississippi Mudd Single Track (CO) Regular Bud (aluminum can taste actually improves taste) Rolling Rock "Greenlight" or something (lite beer) Molson Lone Star (have we determined that this is actually bud yet?) Fosters Kill Self: Keystone Ice Natty Light (actually tastes worse than poison) Franziconner (sp?) 163
Where should I go next fall? / Re: Chances at Penn, Mich?« on: November 20, 2006, 09:23:10 PM »
Definitely apply. Also, make sure you write good optional essays. Try to avoid typos and small errors, don't give them another reason to waitlist you. Make sure to include school information in the PS or Why X? essays. I.e...school history, clarence darrow, architecture, programs, public service departments, etc...and relate it to you or your interests.
Make yourself available for both summer and fall starts at UMich if possible. Good luck. 164

I suggest you place an irrational level of faith in an unrelated event. Like the outcome of 'the game' this weekend. I did the same for the game last weekend... J/K - Good luck! 165

I am serious about the Pete's coffee (which I think is national), it is way way better than starbucks coffee. Also, my NYU friends are all about the Carnegie Deli cheesecake, you should definitely journey south into midtown to get a slice next fall. 166

Accepted at Michigan! Awful day at work, rewarded by package.
Admin Dean underlined my name and the "very" of "we are very excited"...also some generic "I liked your essay" stuff. I am very very excited about this, and very happy with the quick turn-around on my application. I guess there really is...A Michigan difference. 169

University of Texas:
Ugly, 1970's-ish law building. Very dark. Few windows. Whole campus, while architectually appealing, is also pretty much paved over. Construction everywhere. Busy streets, highway on one side. Statues of Jefferson Davis and Robert E. Lee (which is odd, considering the whole confederacy thing is not so big in texas relative to the deep south) UVa: Nice building, very large, comfortable space, lockers. Columbia: Inexplicable middle school lockers, nice rooms, awful outside. Gtown: like a resort. Very nice. UMich: Amazing quad. Thumbs up! UCLA: Great library, outside study areas G-Dub: Crowded quad, little green space, narrow hallways, but nice inside, and in process of further upgrades. Oh, and screw Chipoltle, Try Illegal Pete's and Big City Burrito. Also, Pete's Coffee is way better than Starbucks. |
