Acceptances / Re: Rutgers-Newark, anyone?

Are you going to the Open House on March 28th? Is anyone else going?

I wasn't planning on going because I've already been to a Rutgers Open House. Besides, I'll be on vacation in Vegas! :-)

p.s. Nylo, Rutgers is a great school, but if you really research Cardozo, its an AWESOME school. Its got a lot of amazing programs that are ranked in the top 20 and its in a great location! The "jewish" affiliation means nothing, it shouldnt even factor in your decision. Before making a final decision you should really look at the stats for both schools and talk to some advisors.

Well this is moot anyway because I was WL'd at Dozo and didn't bother staying on the WL. LOL

I think Rutgers is a much better fit for me, esp. since I'm planning to settle down and work in suburban NJ after school.

So I guess you and I are gonna be classmates - woohoo!

Where should I go next fall? / Re: To all Brooklyn Law admits

Any input?

I think it really comes down to where you want to practice. If it's NYC, I'd cast my vote for BLS. If it's anywhere else, probably UConn.

I am deciding between Brooklyn and UH and I haven't heard from Cardozo, doesn't seem like I'll get in anyway. How likely is it that someone graduating from brooklyn will even get a job at Skadden anyway? I wish they had things scheduled for the weekend. It would make things alot easier.

Well, the Skadden associates who we're meeting there are BLS alumni, so obviously it's possible. You'd probably have to be top 10% of your class though. No big surprise.

So, yes I am considering BSL.  I am deciding between them and UConn.

Do you want to practice in NYC? If so, I'm guessing BLS will be a better choice, even though it's T2. Are you getting any $$$ from either?

sent my rutgers in mid-Dec too...got a letter in feb saying i'm deferred and will have a decision in april.

hate waiting.  but, cuny is my top choice anyway. the only reason i'd consider rutgers is b/c i'm already in nj and woudlnt have to move.

but, if moving were no problem, then i'd go to cuny in a heartbeat. their clinical program is ranked really high and the school matches my politics completely.

BUTCH: I don't know you, so obviously I don't expect that what I'm about to say will carry much weight with you. However, for what it's worth, based on everything I know about you from your posts, I hope you do get into Rutgers-Newark and I hope you do attend. It'd be great to have someone like you in my class - someone who's overcome and achieved so much, someone who's intelligent and passionate in her beliefs (I say this even though I'm on the opposite end of the political spectrum), etc. It's funny because when I first read your posts, I felt intimidated by your super liberal stance and thought to myself that if Rutgers were filled with others like you, maybe I'd be better off at Seton Hall. After a few more months of reading though, I realized that having the opportunity to work with people like you will enhance - not detract from - my education and beliefs, and I hope that you feel the same way towards your classmates no matter where you end up. Hope to see you at Rutgers in August!

Belize

Nice!

SCURVYWENCH, didn't you guys get engaged in Belize?

At first, we were planning to go to Fiji but then decided on a more unconventional honeymoon destination - China.

That's why I live in NJ.
