I can't believe how long it's taking Emory to decide on my file.  Seriously though this is a little bit ridiculous.  It's gettin' close to the 4 month mark!

dude...you should just w/d.  are you really gonna go there when you have Mich in your pocket?  ;)

Speaking of which, don't YOU have some more withdrawing to do, little-miss-sitting-on-a-ND-and-WUSTL-accept?

Captain Longshot she can do no such thing... As it would greatly affect her nightly ritual i.e. After her she brushes her teeth and before falling asleep, she picks up each school acceptance letter one by one, tells it goodnight, then finally locates said school's logo- giving it one short goodnight peck  :P

In any case, you clearly missed the intentionally hyperbolic nature of my freak-out.

I clearly missed?  Maybe.  Or you weren't clear enough that you were exaggerating.  Trust me, I've seen plenty of people on this board freak out over similar things.  What sets you apart from any other neurotic twit who thinks his self-worth is based upon his LSAT score and law school acceptance record?  Your post history shows that you have the prestige whoring necessary to be someone who would truly freak out.  In which case, I recommend that you either have a drink or get some prescription anxiety meds.

Well then, to clarify for all our sakes - it was largely hyperbolic and no I wasn't really actually freaking out.

What do you consider prestige-whoring though, wanting to get into the best school possible?

having sex with prestige for money.

sh*t...I guess I am a prestige whore

Well, certainly there's no harm in that   :)

Ha, I got that too.  Think it's a good sign to be getting these emails this late in the game?

I hope so. Besides, if you got your alma mater, I think it's only fair that I get mine. :)

Couldn't agree with you more jbruin.  You totally deserve to get in.

What's the big idea, sending a "financial aid postcard" via email.

Christ I'm losing patience with schools and their stupid emails

Ha, I got that too.  Think it's a good sign to be getting these emails this late in the game?

Law School Applications / Re: Boalt - "Passed initial review"

That brings things into perspective a little.  Getting kinda nervous now.  Is there any observable pattern of approximately how many deferrals are given the nod, or is it totally random?

Hey data, did you get a deferral from Boalt? Because if you did with that GPA, your PS/soft factors must be off the charts!

Much like you I imagine my good man  :)

Thought I told you all- I lead a hard-knock life!   ;D

I want my Boalt rejection.  I received an email saying that my letter was sent...no call from the dean...so I'm out, but the email was on 16th...I want my rejection letter!

P.S. Rejected at USC

Oh they send you an email when they reach a decision?  Nice.   Well, on second thought I guess they don't provide a status checker that we can compulsively check- so that makes sense.

From what it sounds like, the emails went to two classes of applicants - 1) those already admitted and 2) splitters not yet admitted.  So don't count yourself out just because you didn't get an email.

Thanks, Man.  Wow, you have quite an interesting split.  Will be interesting to see how things come out!  I'll be rootin' for ya.

Damn, guess those of us that got 0 emails are screwed?

Haha, I'm with you Data.  Ever since I was deferred, there's been an eerie silence from WUSTL.  It's a bit unsettling.

Hm, Yup.
