Do schools expedite applicants they really like? It seems like some of the turnaround times between complete and decision on LSN are pretty quick. If so, what happens to the rest of us midde-a-the-road folks?

I think that's a safe assumption.  But don't worry too much guys.  It's really early.  The vast majority of schools don't begin to admit applicants until the middle of December.  FWIW I just checked Emory's admits from last year and they didn't start accepting most of their people until the middle of January and into February!

thought it was an acceptance email...PAWNED!

it was an invite to tour the campus.  anyone else get this?

Yeah I got it to.  Funny since some of you say you didn't even apply.  I wonder how many of these emails/mailings are actually targeted toward the people they want or if they just randomly send them out.  I mean, how do they compile their mailists... sometimes it seems as though they have no rhyme or reason.

It's not that hard.  Say thank you, the call is a nice personal touch and that you're honored to have been admitted.  I went through the dance with Mason last year after I'd already been accepted to W&L.  I asked them about potential scholarship opportunities, which may have been a little too blunt, but honestly I wasn't going to consider them w/o $, so I figured I'd be honest.

If not being a d!ck is that hard for you . . . well, at least you've picked the right profession.

Did you really?  Wow.  What did they say to you?  Were they able to give you a figure over the phone?

Say, "Dangit! I thought it was Yale calling. Well, thanks anyway."

That's awesome, ha.

Law School Applications / Re: Univ. Washington report request?

Yeah.  They were really late with requesting mine.  I emailed them twice about it.  They finally requested it around a month and a half after I first applied.

Just got the email from UT deferring my application to the regular applicant pool. Takes the wind out of me.

Wow seems like your numbers would have been right in there.  Plus aren't they waitlisting kinda soon?  Thought they took care of a good deal of acceptances before they started waitlisting.

UCLA is accepting people without handing out completes first.

I sent them an app as soon as they would let me and they STILL haven't requested my LSDAS report just because I sent my app in as a hard copy.  It's a brave new world and I sense a tinge of hard copy discrimination.  That's all I have to say.

I'm seriously so bored and I have so much nervous energy I might enroll in an online MBA.  You know one of those you can finish in 6 month or less :)

I think Notre Dame in terms of job opportunity and name recognition within the Chicago area.  Outside of Chicago not quite sure.
