I hate my life right now.  Everyone should just read LSD.

Where should I go next fall? / Re: Vanderbilt Wait List

And tag.  Not sure I'd go, and I haven't done much to help my case, but I'm on.

27yo STL resident here ... applying to Wash U and SLU for Fall 08 ... 166 LSAT and 3.95 UGPA ... eventually I'd probably like to land in Chicago for work so my question is what your guys' thoughts on going to school in STL if down the line I'd like to work in Chicago is?

For reference: I had about a 166/3.5 and got 25k/year from WUSTL and 15k/year from UIUC.  Chicago is a city I'd love to end up at (see my previous threads for more info), but when I wasn't 100% sure I decided to go to the best school (and Austin is unbelievable).  The moral of this story: you can do better, possibly much better, than WUSTL and SLU.

Wait List / Re: George Washington Waitlist
« on: July 05, 2007, 10:52:03 PM »
Has anyone called the Admin Office to see what is going on? My expectations were pretty high after the waitlist letter in late April and this is disappointing.

I nominate you.   ;D

No way; I'm UT 2.

You're heading to UT as well?  I don't know why we're even following this thread... I doubt I'd go to GW over UT.  Especially after purchasing season tickets, Red River Shootout tickets, and Austin City Limits tickets :)

next "anticipated movement" is thouight to come in "late July", when tuition payment is due.  no idea as to specifics and/or specific date.  although i'd prefer some fireworks this week too- pun intended, discoverer?

Any more details on where that comment came from?

i'd say your chances for UT are null (not slim to null, but null).

Maybe I'm being naive, but that seems harsh.  I agree it is a longshot for him, but his GPA will carry weight... especially if this time next year UT needs to jack up their GPA via the waitlist.  I could be wrong, but I'd always say err on the side of applying and hoping than not applying and wondering.

You really think that's accurate?  His GPA is noticeably higher than mine (and many others).  I'd say he's a long shot, but no chance at all?  I think that's harsh...

(but you could be right)
