Try to sort out your feelings on law school by writing your personal statement rather than before writing your personal statement. This relates to why I'm against heavy outlining before writing a paper b/c I look at the writing process as a means to come to a conclusion rather than a reflection of what I've already figured out. Of course, it's necessary to have some structure in mind before you set off so you're not going off on random tangents, but just make sure the structure does not dictate your outcome. If you're honest and forthcoming, you'll have answered the question yourself by the time your done writing.
Or maybe not, but just tell yourself the answer awaits at the end and this will make you stop procrastinating.
Never bring up personal experiences. Never introduce ridiculous hypos. As a general rule, avoid "what if" questions but if you have to ask one, do not follow it up with another, "what if" question. Limit yourself to one comment per class.
