Law School Admissions / Re: Penn State Wait List (2 more weeks)
« on: April 24, 2007, 08:19:56 AM »
I applied on 2/11/07 and just got my decision today.  I got waitlisted.  You have to mail back a blue form and it specifically states that the waitlist is not ranked. I'm definitely sending my letter back priority mail.

That's weird, when I got waitlisted back in February and there was no form.  They only said to contact their office if you wanted to withdraw from the waitlist.

Within the next two weeks you will either be accepted or you will be asked to return a form declaring your interest either to remain on the wait list or to have your name removed.

The wait list you and I received always seemed more like a deferral to me.  They are now reviewing all of us on the first wait list again, making offers of admission to some, re-waitlisting others.  And now it seems they are also expanding the final wait list by making new offers like that we heard about above.

Hope That Helps

I'm responding to the title of your thread, not the content of your post.

Starting Salary is not important because Law School is inexpensive and everyone graduates with the education paid for in full.

Hey what do you think it means that I haven't heard from them yet? About two weeks ago they said my file was complete and ready to be reviewed. I have a 156/3.3 and was expecting a WL.

Hey, man, you applied such a short while ago!  I think you'll probably hear within the next few weeks as well and I think you'll be accepted outright.  :)

Law School Admissions / Penn State Wait List (2 more weeks)

I spoke with the Director of Admissions yesterday and she informed me that offers will be made from the wait list within the next two weeks.  Of course there will be offers made throughout the summer all the way up to August, but the majority of those offers will come within the next two weeks.

I'd wear slacks and a dress shirt tucked in and buttoned at the wrists.

No tie.

I think that's fine.

Case 12/4/06
UConn 2/26/07
PSU wait listed 2/2/07

Hence that's why that will be the first and last time I use the "I have a friend who..." story    ;)

I liked that story very much.  ;)

Rough day.

I'd pretty much decided on FIU assuming the cycle bears no more fruit, but after sitting down with my boss I am again without a decision.

I was told to go to the best school I get into and then to transfer.  His logic is that it won't be very hard to transfer from Hofstra to FIU in my second year, if that's what I choose, but that I would be limiting myself at FIU.

To him, Hofstra is the "no-brainer."

He did, however, spit out two additional letters of recommendation and sent them to Case Western and UConn for me (sent the same letters to FSU and PSU last week; FSU didn't get it in time).

He sees my first year as a step to a better school.  It's flattering that he sees me in a higher tier, but it's hard to accept what he says so easily considering the overwhelming LSD apprehension to enter 1L with the mindset of springboarding.

In the end, it's my decision to make.  I appreciate everyone's input on here so much, I can hardly explain it.

Thank you all.

FSU is out of the picture.  Or, rather, I'm out of the picture.
