Finally! took forever
Finally! took forever
Thanks!Just got back from Miami after visiting the FIU campus yesterday and today.
It's official: I'm going to FIU!
Nice campus right?
It was awesome! I didn't get to walk the whole thing because of really bad weather, a tropical storm (which, ironically enough, was named Barry...which is the other school to which I sent a seat deposit and was previously committed). The campus is ultra-modern, though, and is still growing. The law building itself even smells new. You can smell the vinyl in the baseboards. The only complaint that I have is that it doesn't appear to be in the best area, so a commute of between 20 and 30 minutes will probably be necessary.
I'm excited though! My cycle's officially over and I got into one of my top choices.
I'll be visiting Dayton in two weeks, I'll let u all know how it goes!
visiting dayton to set up camp, I presume...I believe this is the law school you will be attending, right?
I think Dayton is where the wright bros. are from?
Okay so for real, are people ever admitted off waitlists?
I'm trying to make a decision between two schools that I'm hoping I don't have to attend because the waitlist fairy is going to come by and bring a really positive acceptance.... But I don't know that this is a do-able goal... (I'd really like to get into southwestern followed by suffolk)
I'm also scared since I wasn't waitlisted until the past month ago... Could being waitlisted late hurt my chances of getting off a waitlist?
AHHH... sorry... this process just doesn't get any easier. eventually I just have to committ to like whatever my options are.
How bad are the winters in Dayton?
I'm on the same weather path as Dayton, so here's what we've had:
You will get one or two significant snows a year, but most of the time you just get a dusting. We haven't had a blizzard come through since the mid-90's. Coming from FL, you will think the winter drags on forever. Usually we get a few unusually warm days mixed in, so it doesn't seem all that bad. We also get snow in April on occasion, so be ready for that. Consistent cold weather lasts from mid-Nov to mid-March.
