Current Law Students / Re: Grades?
« on: January 11, 2008, 11:09:14 PM »
So Civ pro is worth how many credits?

My understanding is as follows...

A
B+
B-
C+
and maybe a B- in Torts...

This leaves you w/ a gpa right around 3 correct?

I can understand concerns about the scholarship but by no means do I consider this grades poor..

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: T4 Unemployment Line?

It's true there are $55K jobs out there for people who can't get to biglaw.  However, there's competition for those $55K jobs too, and you're gonna be competing against people with average grades from first-tier schools for them.  If you get some connections at your T4 school, you might find a job in your local area (some T4s are better than others).  Also you might not.  So, if you want to go to Western New England, your small town should probably be in Mass or NH, unless you have a job lined up already RIGHT NOW.

I agree than $70K is way too much to pay for a T4 degree.  Actually, even if it was free, the three years in lost opportunity cost might be too much to pay.  You likely will not make $55k to start, nor will you likely ever see $85k unless you start winning a few PI cases or wind up an insurance defense partner.  Just don't do it.

Sounds like an opinion.

The wife and kids moved to Morgantown this past weekend, and I'll join them after I finish up work this Friday.

This thread has been very supportive, and I think I've read every post (all 213 pages worth).  Good luck to you all!

Agreed. Awesome thread, cool people with tons of info. Drove up to Dayton and just got here. Furniture should be here on tuesday, glta!

FCSL...they are a mess.

they accept me without offerin a scholarship. i tell them i won't go w/out one. they say to bad. i tell them im out and officially withdraw. they continue sending me emails. i tell them to stop since i already withdrew. they say sorry. 3 months later i get an email asking if a scholarship from them would entice me to make a seat deposit. just for shits and giggles i say yes and also mention my previous dealings with them, how much you offering....this was about a month ago, still waiting to hear back.

a joke i tell ya!
