How am I suppose to format the personal statement? Is it suppose to be formatted like an essay, double spaced and indented? Please help!!!

I am planning on applying early, but the problem is I need to retake the LSAT in December. I am not sure if I should apply early now or wait until I get my results for the December test. I don't want my chances to get cut cause I apply early without my second results. If any of you can give me advice please do.
