Thanks.  Pretty much what I was expecting from both.  I'll definitely have some of that nostalgia going on.

I just woke up.

::yawn::

I'm reconnecting with my childhood friends via facebook.  It's fun!  Then I'm going to see Ratatouille.

When I type "Ratatouille" spell checks asks me if I meant to spell "bouillabaisse."  But only if it is capitalized.  If not, it asks me if I want to spell "illustrators."  Spell check is weird.

Let us know how it is.  I'm pretty sure I'll be seeing it sometime in the next week.  By the way, anyone see Transformers?  I think I'm gonna go see it Saturday.

I've pretty much decided on this one:

http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wa/RSLID?mco=5F5E6BCA&nplm=TK930LL/A

but I want to see if they have one at the Mac store in town so that I can look to see if it's big enough.

Can anyone recommend another backpack that fits a 15'' MBP and has plenty of room for casebooks?

Yes.

I just bought this bag. To test it out, I loaded it with a 15" huge old Gateway (bigger than the MBP), two large law school casebooks, a medium sized 500 page hard cover book, an Ipod, a power cord, and a one inch three ring binder. I'll throw in some pens and a spiral notebook too. It fits all of that stuff fine and doesn't lose it's shape. That's the bag I would get if you are willing to spend $109 bucks.

Also note that the bag is not huge and ridiculous looking on the outside, and it comes with a lifetime warranty.

I like that one.  I'd go with black.

I'm on call again today, so probably not.  My posting will pick up from 7-12, when I'm stuck in an office with nothing to do.

The stay at home partner deserves something.  Half?  Who knows.

It should be tied to how well he/she does with raising the kids.  Kid makes honor roll - 5k bonus.  Hits a home run in little league - 1k bonus.  Gets suspended - 3k deduction, etc.

and love this one:

Unfortunately, the third one is nearly $300!  :-\

OMG!  I love this one, too!  Champagne taste, beer budget.   >:(

btw, who makes this bag?

kolobags.  you can see the url when you quote her post.

Thanks, Moni!  Worse thing is -- I did quote her post, but I didn't even notice that.   :P

No prob.  I used it to find out who made all three.  The kolobags one is definitely my fav.  Maybe if I end up at a firm next summer...  :D

Me too! :P

Although I'd have a hard time putting casebooks into it - I'd hate for it break after a month because I was putting too much weight into the bag. Maybe if I unbind and rebind the casebooks... Hmm

I wouldn't use it for school.  I'd use it for everything else.  With a 12-incher, I plan on carrying it everywhere!

 :o :o :o :o :o :o

The more I talk to women about these kind of things, the more reassured I become I'll never want to marry any of you.

Studying for the LSAT / Re: Powerscore or Kaplan?
« on: July 12, 2007, 11:54:17 AM »
Neither!  Seriously, I studied on my own using a book published by LSAC that had 10 tests in it.  It was about 25 smackers instead of a thousand.

Basically the same here, except I took some more tests than you.  I'm completely anti prep course, but I'm not sure our strategy would work for everyone.

FWIW, I looked at the powerscore bibles a couple weeks before the test, and they seemed somewhat helpful.

But it's not just about how much money cleaning/raising kids is worth.  It's also about the professional sacrifices the woman made to do that.  ljg's post is a great example of that.

That's why housewives should earn a salary from their husbands.  If the woman doesn't save that money and gets screwed over in a divorce, that's her fault.

I like this solution.  Hopefully I can pay her with sex.
