You can visit for an entire semester's worth of classes?! I thought it was only 1 class at a time? That sounds really helpful!

I think they both have a geat reputation. At Jones Day here there are an equal number of graduates. I also noticed that as far as firms interviewing on campus, it seemed that CSU had more from the area? Case had more interviewing, but a lot were from firms looking to hire at multiple offices and from Pittsburgh and Michigan cities, etc. They seemed to be from out of town for the most part. It also seems that CSU has a ton more alumni here, since most Case grads (70% I think) are from out of state. CSU also has a ton of people in government positions and political office, it's crazy! I kind of feel like it is just such a toss up...
As far as being towards the top of the class, I definitely think it's possible. I have always done really well in school, I have a 3.94 gpa from a local college even though I have been working full-time as a paralegal for the last 3 years and taking classes full-time, and at a couple points, even more than full-time. So since I won't be working during law school, I think the time I can devote would be huge. I also kind of thought maybe those years of experience (not too much, but more than the avg. grad) will put me in a better position. But like you guys said, Case's rep is national and respected. But I will DEFINITELY talk to the offices regarding where their grads end up! Thanks for the advice, and feel free to add!
Ok, here's the deal. I want to stay in Cleveland, due to things like family, boyfriend, etc. We have 2 great schools. We have Case Western, ranked #51 and Cleveland Marshall, a tier3. However, CSU is on the rise, they are improving for sure. As far as bar passage rates, CSU was 84% and Case was 86%. Not to shabby. Plus CSU had more grades (150 to case's 90) and their percentage went up about 9%, and this class wasn't even the class that they really began imprelemnting their stategy to up their reputation. Basically, I am curious if it's worth it? Top of the class at rising t3 with great regional reputation (I want to stay here anyway) or #51 with similar everything except ranking, and twice the tuition. Case is seriously up there in terms of tuition- 35k a year. CSU is 15k and I will have scholarship money factored in too. Thoughts?
OK- here's my concern! I want a big law firm job. I love Jones Day, I just can't help it. I like CSU a lot, but wonder if with that goal I might have a better shot if I attend Case? Can anyone give any info on where CSU grads end up working? And if I will need to be in the top of the class to get the big firm job?
Hello everyone! I really, really want to attend CSU starting 2007. I just applied, and am curious if anyone could give me some insight into scholarships from them? My stats:
GPA 3.71 (degree 3.94, Lake Erie College)
LSAT 146 (ooops, last year) 156 (yay for taking higher score!)
Please let me know your thoughts! Thanks!
This is all great stuff...I appreciate all the info on Toledo in response to my first post on this board. I believe I will most likely end up at UT in the fall. Just to balance things out if possible, is there anyone who has chosen CM over Toledo? Why? Any reasons other than just wanting to attend law school in Cleveland? Additionally, anyone else accepted to the transitional program at UT? Thanks again.
I was offered full tuition at Toledo but have chosen CSU instead with a $10k scholarship. I live 30 min. from CSU and dont mind the drive (plus I took a visiting student class at CSU while in undergrad and liked the school). I chose csu because everyone there has been, so so so helpful and knowledgeable. I feel that when I'm looking for a job they would be a bit more of a help. Not to get off the subject, but I talked to a case law senior and she said their career services and job placement department at case sucked! Also, I met a grad of csu working at Jones Day and a senior partner who was a csu grad and told me he liked to hire csu grads also (at least thats what he said!). They all said that if your staying in ohio CSU is your better bet and case is just overpriced and fluffed up. But, if you plan on leaving the region go with the higher ranked school. Anyways, my point is that csu has a really positive and strong regional rep. and rankings are really more helpful if your leaving the state. To someone out of state rankings are probably the only concrete way of knowing the background of a school. My boyfriends mom is a judge and she hates the rankings and told me to save my money and go to csu. She did and obviously it worked out for her. Also, csu is on a kick to get their rankings up and the new dean is pretty set on it and it looks to be going good so far. They really raised their bar passage rate. I dont think Toledo is a bad school by any means, but keep in mind that if you decide to attend purely based on rankings, its still borderline and its possible it might drop back to t3 next year. Bottom line, I would attend the school I feel comfortable with. I'm from the cleveland area and know a bit about the school if you have any questions.

If given the choice between Harvard and any of these four schools with big money what would you all pick?
Harvard. I mean, it's Harvard?! don't get me wrong, those other schools are all absolutely fantastic, but it's Harvard!
but then again...I couldnt get into any of them anyways! lol.

Ok, I apologize. I didn't mean for this thread to get so out of hand. And I apologize to Einstein for the personal remarks, I misunderstood.
WHOA guys, whoa! I think this law school stuff is driving us all nuts...NYC is definitely a different market completely. There are so many schools there...competition is tough. But other areas are much, much different than what your experiencing.
I would chime in but your avatar looks kinda dirty
I couldn't help it. It was just the best pic I could find on my computer...
