Acceptances / Re: Full ride
« on: January 19, 2007, 01:43:26 PM »
I received a full ride, plus $300 for books each semester at Texas Tech.  162/3.6.

I haven't done anything particularly special.  I would assume it's just from my numbers.

I received 10K per year from Tech...almost a full ride.  Very tempting, especially with my mediocre numbers.  Are you considering Tech KCGF?

Financial Aid / Re: FICO Score Interpretation?

Federal Law entitles everyone to a free credit report once per year.  Get yours at https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp

OK, so I just got my free credit report and there is no score, just a list of my accounts and their status.  There is a link where you can get your score for $5.95, but its called an "Experian Vantage Score" and the scale is from 501-990.  I think I wasted $5.95!

Damn myself for buying that new car 2 years ago.  My old one would have been paid off by now.

Non-Traditional Students / Re: Fitting In Advice for Non Traditionals

At the ripe old age I 31, I am the youngest in my department and I get a lot of flack too.  Even the file clerk is older than I am.  Just makes my desire to go back to school even stronger.
